It's always hard when we lose a beloved pet. Somehow the idea that they are no longer suffering doesn't make it any better, does it?

Maybe it's too soon, but consider honoring the memory of you cat and adopt another one in need of a home. It's not replacing if you are saving the life of a shelter cat who might not have much time.
That is really a good suggestion and i almost did it right after we lost Penny this past July. When i see and hear some of the animal cruelty stories you dont know how i wish i had the power to help them all.But the fact we could save 1 is still an accomplishment.I know we saved Penny from a horrible life and what a turn around she had for 10 yrs.I just wish it could have been a few yrs more.

I'm so sorry to hear about this :( Losing a pet is never easy but the pain subsides over time. I've lost many pets but I try to remember that they had happy lives.

Hitch, I was like you, praying Harry would die so I wouldn’t have to make the decision, but he didn’t.  I promise I will get another cat, but I want to wait until Heidy passes.  The vet said in a few weeks.  It will be 2 more rescues with sad stories.  I hate to say this, as people will roll their eyes, but I have 5 dogs and usually 10 to 12 cats.  Yes, before anyone objects they are all taken excellent care.  Up to date on shots, cats are indoor only, I have 1 acre of fenced in yard so dogs can run.  Actually, can anyone else say they have their vet’s home and cell #.  I have sadly had to call in the middle of the night and once on Easter and was met at the hospital, so they are loved and taken care of, so please don’t anyone write and blast me for having too many.

So Sorry Nancy I so know how you feel.  I had to put my little dog down that is in my picture she was my best friend.  Now our two sister cats are getting way up there close to 19 years old and one of them is thin as a rail so know they are not probably gonna last much longer.  Prayers for peace and comfort.   :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose:

I had to put down 3 dogs that aged out, one after the other.  Then the cat, Little Richard.  It was so hard.  Still not over them.  Wasn't going to get another pet but then a family of cats appeared in my shed.  Adopted two of them.  Love them so dearly.  They keep me from getting lonely in my old age.
