Has anyone had to get the swine-flu shot?

If I understood it right, it should cost you anything.  Either that or it will be very affordable.  The government is supposed to be backing it so it's easy for everyone to get.  Insurance is supposed to be reimbursing docs for it no questions asked.

I haven't had one yet. Our military hospital will start giving the flu shots end of Oct. My cost will be free due to being retired Air Force. I haven't heard anything about the swine flu shot yet.

  Our town newspaper said that we should have it soon, but if we go to the clinic to get it, we have a good chance of catching the flu from someone who is already sick !! I am going to atsy home as much as possible, and keep away from anyon who looks sick.

It is still safer to get the standard Flu Shot. The H1N1 has alot of negative results. Flu shots are free at most clinics. Pretty cheap at places like Walmart and Walgreen's when they have the Flu Shot Day, where I live it's $9.00.

I always get flu shots and will get the sf shot when available. The regular shot is $25 here and I expect the sf shot will be about the same. I have had the flu turn to pneumonia twice requiring multiple rounds of antibiotics each time. So I don't take chances. And when I do get the flu after a shot, it is always pretty mild.

I never get flu shots of any kind and never will.

You know the only time I ever got the flu was because of my mom when I was like 8 because she is a nurse and she had to get a flu shot then got the flu because of it and then gave it to me.

I agree with you 100%!! When my daughter was one and a half we both went in to get a flu shot, we BOTH ended up more sick than we have ever been in our lives. Funny thing is the doctor said we got sick because of eggs!! HAHA what the hell we both love eggs and are not allergic to them whatsoever. They just didnt want to say, yes this shot can make you sick!!! I nor my oldest have never gotten another one nor will we ever. As for my youngest she has never had one and I do not plan on that changing. Ya sure we get the sniffles but nothing like after that shot!! If there is a swine flu shot, same thing. I will not nor my kids be getting one. I dont think anyone should jump on a NEW shot till you do research and see the pros and cons of a medicine.

I have had flu shots in the past, and 90% of the time, I get sick immediately after. I'm no scientist, but in my uneducated brain it is like drinking a beer to keep from getting drunk.

According to some research I've done, the swine flu shot has the possibility of giving you a rare syndrome called Guillans-Bare (spelling??) syndrome.  Google it and you will see.  In a 1976 outbreak of the swine flu, this syndrome killed more people than that swine flu did.. I'm not getting the shot unless I'm forced to.

the problem with the sickness after the shot is, your not sick from the flu virus as its dead. You have flu-like symptoms often though like runny nose, sinus problems, headaches etc. They call this "flu-like" symptoms but its not from 'flu-like' illness. Your body was just poisoned and it can even cause brain swelling which can lead to brain damage in some people (specially kids). Your body is trying to get rid of the toxins and your immune system took a direct hit making it more succeptable to other illnesses to boot! Then you find out that some people who get the flu shot STILL get the flu, its very common. Some of the damages from the vaccines are neurological and cannot be repaired, they have even found links to autism and parkinsins disease and vaccines such as the flu shot.
