When is it enough, Leslies Van Houten?
« on: June 04, 2019, 12:30:58 am »
Hello! :D :)

Leslie Van Houten was denied parole again even after she has made a lot of progress while she was institutionalized. Please, she is 69 most of her youth is far gone and she probably just have a few more years to go she is no longer a threat to the society. She's been in prison for about 50 years she has paid for her crime. Keeping her locked up won't bring back the dead. Do you believe that prisons are really for rehabilitating or just to punish bad people? I believe it is to punish if Leslie Van Houten is still in prison. They just can't forgive her for what she did! :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

OMG First prisons are to punish and rehabilitation into society.  From your picture I can see you re too young to remember the crimes Charles Manson and his followers did.  They not only murdered by stabbing in cold blood, took the life of an unborn child, smeared their victims blood on the walls, and thought this was funny.  Yes she spent the majority of her life behind bars, but she made that choice when she was young.  Life in prison means life.  As the saying goes, you did the crime - you do the time.

She should have been put to death a long time ago.  Her victims do not get to live out their golden years. Feel no sorrow for her. NO she should not get out of jail.  And yes she is still a threat.  She needs to die behind bars.

She did not kill anyone in the Tate murders, however she was a killer the next night at the LaBianca murders.  According to the trial she stabbed Rosemary LaBianca 16 times.  And we should forgive?  She was originally sentenced to death, but it was later changed to life.

I'm not familiar with this either but if you are found guilty I believe you should serve your time.

She should Not get out.  The murders were horrific, several of the others have already died in jail as should she.  These are just the murders they were proved guilty of, it has come out through the years that there were others including several bodies found on the property where this group lived.  I remember them laughing at the details were told in court, and skipping in as if it were all a big joke.  They were all sentenced to death, but the governor changed the law or this would not even be an issue.

She should serve her life sentence.  Her crime was a malicious, violent, premeditated murder.  I've always wondered if the death penalty would be more of a deterrent in these types of crimes.  It seems to bother some people to put someone to death even though that person has taken another life on purpose.
Have a wonderful day!

I agree, no one really knows how many they killed, but these were the ones they were convicted of.  You are right, I had forgot about them laughing and skipping as the entered the courthouse.  Big joke to them.  I wonder if she's laughing now

I don't remember who she is and what she did.  I will Google her and read what she did, but if she killed someone than she need to do her time just like everyone else.

She was part of the manson family/cult.  She does not ever need to see freedom.  This all happened before I was born but I have heard about it all my life.

The parole board seems to think if she was released she would be a threat to society.  The story I read said she had earned her masters and bachelors degrees while in prison.  Well big deal  She earned it at tax payers expense and what is she going to do with it? She certainly can't get a job with it.

I did not specify who she killed.  She was part of the charles mason family/cult.  I do not have anything to forgive her for.  She did not do anything to me.  I am sure the family of her victim are still hurting and wish that their family had a chance to live out their life.  But they did not get that chance so NO she does not deserve to get to live 10-20 years free to do what ever she wishes.  And guess what she will be drawing a government check so we are still keeping her up.   Let her die in prison like the sentence said.

Probably.  Doesn't sound like she has had too rough of a life.  I doubt mr charlie is doing too much laughing right now.

Prison must not have been too bad of a place since she got all the education food and housing free of charge and no she should not be set free

This is one of the cases where I'm conflicted when asked about it.  I just have to trust the parole board who, I'm sure, has looked over the case carefully.  I can't just automatically say "no" she should never get out on parole but likewise I can't say yes, she should be allowed to get out on parole.

Wasn't she originally sentenced to the death penalty before it was overturned?

She murdered someone. I think she deserves her time in jail, preferably for the rest of her life. If she was so easily manipulated by Manson, couldn't imagine who else she could be manipulated by.
