I wonder if the sudden closings were due to health reasons.  I'm looking forward to trying the Impossible Burger.

No, that hasn't happened in my area. We actually have several Burger Kings and several McDonald's here so it wouldn't matter if one of them shut down. The others would be able to handle the excess people from one of the others.

We have one BK in the area and is a block from McDonalds.  They remodeled years ago but it is still dirty and dark.  Really don't care about either one as we don't go to either one as we are not that big on fast food.

The closest BK is about 1/2 hour away.  There's  not many places to eat in our town, they all closed down.  They were all individually run places... no chains except for Subway.

I think it did happen within the past few years in my area but I really don't like Burger King that much so it didn't bother me at all lol.

Why would it be due to health reasons?  Most times it is because the restaurant is under performing and not making money.  And no you do not always know ahead of time.  We have had several close and nobody, not even the employees knew until it happened.  We had a Shoney's a few years ago that closed and there were rumors but if you called the restaurant they denied it.

We have had several stores close lately and people want to act surprised. But if you pay attention about 80% of the time the only people in the establishment was the employees.  If the store is losing money or the restaurant or whatever it will be closed.

Me too! I eat only fast food a few times a year, usually on a road trip and never at BK, but I would go there to try the Impossible Burger.

Ours as far as I remember has never CLOSED to renovate. When the Burger King did they kept the drive thru window open.

I personally would not care if our Burger King closed.  The employees are dumber than dirt and it isn't very clean.

I would miss McDonald's somewhat if it closed but it would not be the end of the world.  Like somebody else said, maybe you, I try not to eat out that much.

It would not bother me if the Burger King closed for remodel because it is not one of my go to places.  It would be a different story if it was Wendy's.  Love me some Wendy's.

I live in urban Memphis, so we have many BK's.    I can walk to a BK in under 5 minutes and McDonalds is just a couple blocks away.

Most fast food places here have signs on their window about a week or two in advance to any remodeling or construction. It is unfortunate for those that don't go there often and think they can just swing-in quickly, only to find out they are closed temporarily.

We live in a small town, but we do have a few options - Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell. It sucks when you can't have want you want but at least there's a little variety for when one is doing work.
