What are you looking forward to doing this summer?
« on: June 10, 2019, 08:42:35 am »
Any special events planned?  Vacation?  I just love summer in general so I'm looking forward to hot sunny weather and long days.  My family reunion is next month.  Hopefully will do some traveling.

Not much cash on hand for a vacation this year so I'm planning on sitting tight and making the best of it. Summer is storm season where I live and I prefer chilling and watching a storm roll in more than hectic vacation stuff anyway.

Looking forward to BigBrother21 on CBS, I hope they are all newbies, with no returning players!

Heading out to Ocean City, MD later this summer with the rest of the family - an event for my daughter's dance studio. Looking forward to a little bit of R&R in the sun.  (And every other free weekend and the occasional free weekday evening I hope to resume my typical summer routine of riding rollercoasters at Cedar Point amusement park).

I intend to spend as many weekends camping or going to the cabin as possible. I would love to take an actual vacation, but I don't see that happening. We just adopted our dog a few months ago, and I don't want to leave her for any extended period of time. I don't think she's emotionally ready for that.  :in-love:

No  plans for a vacation this year. Hoping to get started on remodeling the interior of our house.  Although we will be taking a few day trips to  see the doctors. And my daughter-in-law will be having major  hip surgery next month and we plan on being there with her.  It is a lot more then just a hip replacement. she was born with  some hip problems  and had a couple of surgeries as a child and all of that will need to be corrected also. we have not told her that we  will be there yet. But we will. We have been through so much with her and I am not going to stop being there for her. Even if   her husband  my son has been  gone for  so long. He passed in 3001.  She has  married a great young man and we call him ou proxy son. Love him to  pieces just like her.

A lot of places and even hotels are pet friendly these days.  Maybe you could take the dog with you. Assuming it is a well behaved dog. lol.  I have been pet sitting for a dog that is crazy.  She has so much energy she would never be able to be in public.  But she is suppose to start obedience school in the next week or so.

I want to get completely settled in our new housing arrangement.  We sold our house and are now renting a small two bedroom house.  I also want to get more walks in, visit the grandkids every month.

We have two family reunions and a trip to California in the works too.

All of this beach talk has me daydreaming.   I wish I had an RV and could just cruise the coastal highways.

Every year we go to a water park. It's really cool, they let you bring in coolers, drinks and food. Just no alcohol or glass containers.  So we leave my house about 7am to drive up there and spend the whole day.  We also are planning on going to the zoo sometime during break.

I have 3 kiddos getting their wisdom teeth removed during their summer break - so this should be FUN. (not) lol

We've thought about taking her with us. She is very well behaved, but she's too big to fly, so it would have to be a road trip. She also doesn't like the heat, so we'd probably wait until fall. I guess we'll see how things go over the summer and maybe we'll actually go on a vacation! It's been so long since I've been on one, I forgot what they're like! LOL

I am going to work just a little bit harder so that I can take a solo trip to Central and/or South America over Labor day. No kids/wife or extended family. Just going to add a few more stamps to my passport and take in some of the sights. Already starting to brush up on my six years of High School/College Spanish as I plan on hitting some pretty remote areas. I have located one charity that I will put in four hours at when I get there. I picked up a novel that is in Spanish and started reading a few pages a day-translating as I go along. I figure I will need less time conjugating and have a better familiarity with standard words by the time I head down there. My Neighbor speaks fluent Spanish so I will work with him each weekend or whenever I can.
