New Windshield
« on: June 18, 2019, 07:06:09 am »
Last night I didn’t park in my garage, but kept the SUV in the driveway.  This morning when my husband went to get the paper he noticed my windshield cracked.  As he checked it out there was a BB gun hole in it.  Now I have to get a new windshield.  Talking to a neighbor down the street the same thing happened to them, so I guess someone had fun last night causing people to spend more money.  We have cameras, but we couldn’t make out anything except it was a pickup.  We called the police, but there’s not much they can do.  I guess from now on, it’s garage all the time.

I guess some people have nothing better to do than to take up worthless hobbies.  Our monthly presentation in our Christian Ministry for June asks the question: Do you believe we are living in the Last Days?  Then we turn to a scripture that talks about Critical Times hard to deal with and that they are here.  ( 2Tim. 3:1-5 )

This kind of activity fits right in with what is so prevalent in the world today.  I'm sorry for your unexpected and unhappy surprise.  Thankfully you didn't get hurt.

Total bummer for you! My daughter left, this morning, at three thirty for a forty five day teaching stint at Yale. I had to wake her up and as we are driving I noticed that she has a cracked windshield and a few chips. I'll call the insurance company this morning and they will have a company come to my house and replace the windshield. Our insurance covers everything but one hundred dollars of the expense (luckily). She also had a maintenance light on (which she said is for the oil) and a low tire pressure light on. I'll have those taken care of tomorrow. Her car is a mess which will take me about a dozen trips to clear out today. I am having the car detailed on Thursday. It kills me that she can operate at near-genius level in her field but can let things like necessary car care build up.

That is ridiculous.

Yes I believe we are living in the last days.  But people have said that longer than I have been alive.  So the last days could last hundreds of years.

People are evil.  I think they always have been but now it is so much easier to get the info out there when something happens.  I will say they are more evil than in the past and the perversion I think is at it's highest level ever.

I have had a chip in my windshield for years and contrary to what the ads on tv tell you it isn't going to just shatter or break all to pieces.  If you have ins or the money and can fix it then that is great.  I think mine came from a rock that fell from a truck on the interstate.  But it has been chipped for as long as I can remember and it has never done anything more.

Nancy5, I feel your pain. Sometimes people just go along a street and wreak havoc as they go. But you might want to follow cadence4u's advice.  :highfive: I did the same thing with my windshield before and it worked like a charm. Plus it's barely noticeable.

I love my local glass repair shop. They are fab!

I have a glass repair company coming to the house tomorrow.  Thanks everyone for your advice and concern.  This gets me so mad, I just don’t understand some people.

People are just stupid.  And there is like a zero chance they will be caught.  But with so many people with security cameras you would think somebody would have got a shot that would be useful to police.

We have cameras, but all we saw was a pickup stop in front of house and someone on passenger side roll down window and shoot.  Couldn’t make out truck (it was a dark color) and couldn’t make out shooters face.

The sad part is, I don't think they can do ballistics on a BB (if they could even find it).

Hey Nancy!,

I was gonna chime in and suggest you call a windshield repair co like safelight or giant glass (probably only here in the new england area) but you said the repairman is on the way so you stole my thunder LOL! Glad no one was hurt by this careless/thoughtless person, hopefully things will go back to normal now.

The glass repair should be free by the way as your insurance should have you covered.

It blows my mind how people have nothing better to do but destroy things.  And it's never there own stuff but friends, family and neighbors.  What a shame.  Maybe have neighborhood watch or make a call to the local PO to patrol the area.
