Lights
« on: June 21, 2019, 05:58:35 am »
Do you put lights on during the day? my BF likes to have a light on when watching TV. I tell him to open the blinds and let the sun shine in but he thinks it makes the room to warm UGH

The sunlight does warm up the room. During the summer as much as I like the sunlight I limit it. In the spring and winter I always open the blinds and let the light in.

I do because we have limited windows for light.  The one window in the livingroom does not get the sun until afternoon.

I do get sun from the kitchen slider, but it's been rainy and cloudy lately so I need the light.

I open blinds and if I am in the room doing something and need more lights I turn them on.  I can't stand to be in a house with all the blinds closed.

Let the sunshine in; face it with a grin.

Smilers never lose and frowners never win.  :in-love:

So let the sunshine in; face it with a grin. Open up your heart and let the sun shine in.

Everybody now!

I'm sorry. I just couldn't help myself.  :-X

LOL.  That song was in the movie "Jane Doe"    I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks after seeing it.  ;)

I meant "The Autopsy of Jane Doe"

This time of the year I keep the curtains closed in the  afternoon because of the of the sum coming in on the west side. It can get awful hot. Winter and fall I  have them open in the day time. I also get up earl in the mornings and open all of the windows for the  cool morning  air, then start closing them  about noon when it goes to getting hot. Saves on the electric bill a lot.

  Sometimes sunshine is a nuisance.
It all depends on the time of day and room location.

I've recently had to do this in my home's office room, it doesn't get enough light to see the computer screen so I have to turn on the light - I think my eyes are just aging because it's just a recent thing.

I can understand your BF wanting the shades closed, the sun does heat up the room sometimes, & sometimes there is glare.

I to only have the lights on when it gets dark during the day I have the curtains open and let the light shine in and that’s the only light I have other than the computer screen

I open my shades as soon as it gets light and they stay open till dark  I love the sunshine and refuse to live like a mole  It does get warm in summer but helps heat in the winter

I try to use natural light as long as I can. That reminds me in high school I had a teacher who took my suggestion to turn off the fluorescent lights and open the windows and we often had the whole class that way. She agreed natural light was less headachey.
