duplicate surveys
« on: July 03, 2019, 08:55:19 am »
If you get thrown into a survey that you know you've already done recently, what do you do?  Do you get out of it or do you complete it anyways ???

IMO, do it again. They'll kick you out if they don't want you or if they know you've done it before.

Most survey takers will let you know you shouldn't retake a survey if it will skew their results.

I get the same surveys on multiple sites and just close them when I recognize the survey, don't take a chance that they will disqual you, too many and they might ban you!

I try them and sometimes it tells me that I already completed it.  Work different sites so I don't always remember if I took it or not.  If it works fine if not it will reject my answers.

I am on several sites and attempt many surveys. When it is all said and done, I complete a lot but I work hard at it. I get many surveys that seem to be duplicates but I can not always tell. Sometimes there are a few questions that seem to be new and different but again I can not always tell.

Since I use the same computer, I would expect a survey company to recognize my ISP and let me know that I have already completed the survey. They should know on the other end and many do inform me that I have already completed the survey.

I done one like that.  It seemed identical but after a few questions they changed and the last part all the questions were different.  Turns out everyone who completed the first one got an invite to do the 2nd part.  Not sure why so many questions were the same.  It was a couple days later.  Maybe to make sure you told the truth and answered the questions the same way.

I have had duplicate or at least similar surveys a number of times.  I usually just follow through to the end and see what happens.  Most of the time I am credited again.

Sometimes survey companies recognize that you have already completed the survey. You will be notified and will not be able to complete it.  I try to rely on their checks and balances to determine my qualifications.

The problem is, I don't want to get into a situation where a survey panel thinks I am trying to cheat their system by turning in duplicate work.  So with that said, it may be a good idea to pay attention to the survey ID number before beginning 'work'.  Then by comparing the numbers it will give you a better idea if you are doing the same one.

If I go into a survey that I already completed, I won't do it again or sometimes it will tell me a message saying  you have already completed this survey. Sometimes I forget and get that  other than that I move on to the next :)

I rarely recognize the same ones but if they are on different sites I would complete them.

Bostonphil, I can identify with all you said.  Survey taking can be tedious and brain draining.  I try to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, but I take so many surveys, and attempt so many surveys that don't let me finish, that I can never totally recognize if I have tried the same survey before.  I keep a running list of all the surveys I complete, so that I can look back and see if I have taken a survey on a particular subject in the past.  I include dates because many ask if you've taken a survey on a certain subject within a specific time frame.  I always try to follow the rules.

I still attempt the survey. I have had times when it tells me I have already completed it, but if not, I just continue and let the system figure it out. However, I sometimes also wonder if the survey is interested in changing views and attitudes over time.

That is a good observation, sometimes when I get frustrated answering the same demographic questions over and over,  I think that is the reason, that things change over time.

People move so their address and zip code changes.  They get married or divorced so that has to be entered over and over.

I try to ignore the repetition and get on with the survey!

Ahhhhh yes redundancy at it's best.  Same thing here but the overall goal is to get the DQ.

Half the time I get through it and the other time I get kicked out because the system knows I've already completed it.
