first time
« on: July 04, 2019, 03:52:11 pm »
I am finally getting brave in my cooking.  Learned to can jelly the other day.   I made them out of peonies and white clover.  White clover tastes like honey, peony tastes like strawberry.  To day I am making tamarind jelly.  I have been cooking it for a while now like the recipe says to.  Testing little bits of it.  I absolutely am impressed with the taste.  The problem I  have been having with these jellies is they don't seem to set right, like not as thick as I would like them,  but still going to keep working on it
Do you still like to try and learn somethings new?

that is good  that you are learning at first hand about trying different things. I have been trying a few new recipes over the past 6 months and doing good with them. I have slowed down a little being summer but I will start back up in the fall with some more

I am still learning and trying to improve. I do hate to cook meat though!

my mom used to make jelly from the strawberries we picked at a local farm. I have never tried this but the jelly was good

     I do not like kitchens!
I would rather do something else.

I am cooking more often. I love food so it makes sense that I at least learn to cook my favorite dishes. I haven't tried canning anything, though.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I like to try new recipes, still.  I don't like to do things that take a lot of time or ingredients, though.  Standing at the counter kills my back, so I don't like chopping and lots of prep work.  I want quick and easy these days.

I cook almost everyday at me house, since I do not like to est outside food often, is better for my health and pocket too, and I love to try new recipes I look and try the ones I think will be great for my family.  I tried an avocado and steak salad the other day that was extremely good

I like to try new things in baking, but usually after having tried something new at somebody else's house. That way, I have some idea of how the new thing is supposed to look and taste before trying it.

It would take me maybe a week looking it up, encouraging myself over and over saying you can do this.

I really don't like to cook. In fact I told my husband if our house did not have a kitchen I would be ok with that.
