I make a lot of green salads, steak salad, grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, tacos, taco salad, and foods in the crock pot or air fryer. Also use seafood salad on greens. We can't have potato salad, which we both love, :(  and he doesn't like pasta salad  :(.   I would grill but it's been sitting since 2012 and I'm afraid to open the lid. LOL Hubby was supposed to pressure wash it 3 years ago and I'm still waiting. He almost did it last week but then the rains came again. Maybe by next years. :D

So many good options! I used to eat green salads for dinner all the time but I haven't in years! I would add fruit and cheeses and they were delicious! I'll have to start doing that again.

Taco salads are a good idea! I usually buy those from fast food places but it would be healthier and more cost efficient to save the money.

Also, my dad has been telling me to look into getting an air fryer but I haven't yet.

I hope you and your husband get a chance to use your grill! Thank you for the fantastic ideas!  ;D :highfive:

I got an air fryer last year for Christmas and it did not work so we took it back.

Look up slow cooker recipes.  I, recently, made Slow cooker Asian Beef.  I made it in my Instant Pot but, it was REALLY good.  So glad I tried it and so easy to make.  A lot of the slow cooker recipes are really easy.  Also Betty Crocker has some really easy one pot meals.

I got mine last Christmas from my son...but found out you can't really make good pork chops in it. LOL  I do a lot of chicken, especially wings. Hubby loves them in that contraption.  I have a crock pot that I used for beef since store-bought is so tough today. I'm looking into an Instant Pot. All these appliances help keep the kitchen cool in the summer.

Hmm... I might look into an air fryer, then. I have a mini rice cooker but I don't have a crock pot, yet.
Keeping my kitchen cool is definitely a priority for me. It gets hot in sunny SoCal!

Salads are great when it is hot.  Save the heavier meals for winter.  Look online for any meat and yo will come up with any recipe you want. :)

When it  is hot here the colder the salad the better I like it. I do a lot of pot luck stuff  for the ministry and it is  so hot down there even with  AC'S going.  So I will make a couple of salads and  of course  bake something they all have a sweet tooth I think, I would  eat more  salads if  any is left at times.   It is so hot  I don't even  care if I eat much at home. So again it  is cold fruits,  some crackers and  a little cheese.

Putting meals on the grill, but for me I like to cook in the toaster oven, something quick and easy or microwave meals.

I would recommend anything with fresh vegetables or fruits. I love zucchini noodles because they're a healthier alternative to regular pasta made with flour. You just need to get something called a spiralizer and they're pretty affordable.

I cook whatever I am hungry for//but  still use the crock pot so that whenever I get ready for dinner I am all set.  I like to throw in chicken  (or any other meat you like) strips in the crock with strips of peppers, onions for quick fajita dinner   I also add in anything that sounds good from my garden.. sometimes zucchini or squash and tomatoes right at the end.

In the summer I don't like to eat a lot of heavy foods.  Green salads, pasta salads and there is a taco salad I make that has no meat.  It is just cream cheese and salsa mixed together as the bottom layer and then you layer lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture.

We do salads a lot in the summer and just add a different protein each evening.   We also steam a lot of our leftovers so it does not heat the kitchen.

Summer cooking is so much fun.  Taking the weather and location into account opens up a several avenues to take when cooking.  I think the best place to start is a grocery store.  Check out the sale ad's along with seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables.  From there is the fun part in building a menu.
