My liking of root beer is in direct dichotomy with my distaste for waffles. I really, really love French toast, like pancakes a lot, and barely tolerate waffles. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I think maybe it's all the square indentations that it's hard to get butter into, LOL!  :peace:

National Pumpkin Day 2019 — Pumpkin History and Related ...
https://nationaltoday.com/national-pumpkin-day
Oct 26, 2019 · National Pumpkin Day falls on October 26. Pumpkins are so much more than just a fun holiday accessory. Not only are they one of the best-known sources of beta-carotene (an antioxidant converted to vitamin A in the body), but pumpkins are loaded with fiber, potassium, and vitamin C. Try some on National Pumpkin Day (and of course have a little fun carving them).

Who knew there could be so many "recognized" days for so many things?  And it's a subject of intense research?

Well, I feel better informed for just having read through all of these.  But did I miss a national root beer day somewhere since several members were posting about it?

Here's the one on page 1 of this thread:
National Root Beer Float Day (August 6)
You're un-American if you don't like root beer floats...just sayin'. This August 6 if you go into any participating A&W restaurant from 2 to 8 p.m., you can get a free root beer float, no purchase necessary! If you're feeling generous, customers are encouraged to make a donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

I guess I missed seeing it in this thread, however, it is in reference to a day celebrating root beer floats -- which I love!  In fact, I did celebrate that day this past August.  I headed over to the nearest A&W for my root beer float.  You are correct in saying that no purchase was necessary, too.  A&W has to be one of the best root beers around and I'm likely to repeat it next year.
