National Watermelon Day 2019 -- Aug. 3
« on: August 03, 2019, 01:15:56 pm »
I didn't know this "holiday" existed because once watermelons start to ripen every day is watermelon day!  Love melons in the summertime.  But it poses the question ~ is it bad for you to eat a whole watermelon in one day?  Do you ever sprinkle salt on it?  Is anybody going to "celebrate" today?

I didn't know this was a annual "holiday" but I will be celebrating with eating some delicious and refreshing watermelon. I've eaten a whole watermelon in one day but it's so good for you almost 92% water and it's full of vitamins A,C and antioxidants! Oh, and yes I do sprinkle a little bit of salt on my watermelon! YUM!

I am not going to celebrate today and I do not sprinkle salt on watermelon. I do however like watermelon a lot and have since  I was a kid.

I didn't have any watermelon today, unfortunately. I don't put salt on mine. I've heard it's good but that just sounds gross to me lol.

I hate watermelon, and every other melon I've ever tasted. Also cucumbers, although I think they're in the gourd family, but they have a melon-y taste.

They have a holiday for everything nowadays!  As far as watermelon is concerned, I love it!! It is one of favorite food of summer with its cool, sweet, melt-in-your mouth goodness.  I can eat a lot of watermelon when I'm in the mood, even making an entire meal of it at times.
