Youngest, Middle, Oldest, or Only
« on: August 07, 2019, 06:48:07 am »
What was your family situation when you were growing up?  Were you an only child?  Or were you the youngest, middle, or oldest one?  How do you think this affected you, if it did at all?  I had one sister who was more than 16 years older so I was raised as an only child most of the time.  My parents were also older so they had the time and money to provide for me.  I actually liked being raised as an only child most of the time since there were many children to play with in our neighborhood.

I was the youngest of 3 .. with 1 sister and 1 brother.  My sister who is the oldest is only 3 years older and my brother was 2 years older so we were all very close in age.

I am an only child. I have definitely have been given more opportunities in comparison to if I had a sibling.

For example, my parents are currently letting me live in their house, while I go to University, for free. I wanted to live on campus but it was around $7,000 for two semesters. Way out of budget. They don't require to me to have a job either. I still have one during the summer as well as earn "beermoney" year-long to help where I can. But I believe if I had a sibling, it would be much different.

Only child. I don't believe my parents wanted children at all since they each had endured their mother dying in childbirth. Plus my mom had to take care of all her stepbrothers when her stepmother died and she didn't have a great deal of desire for motherhood. She worked a full-time job the entire time I was growing up.

BTW, I'm not knocking anyone. My mom was a great person and so was my dad. I wouldn't have changed them for the world. Now if I could have changed their situation; that's different.

I was the oldest child in the family.  My parents divorced so we were split up, but I had a sister and a brother.  After my mother remarried she had another girl.

I am the oldest of three girls and born 13 months apart.  We were very close growing up and usually always together and hung out with the same group of friends.  We are still close but of course things change when you have your own family but we are still there for each other.

I was the middle child and the only girl.  So it all worked out.  We were all spoiled.  LOL

I am the 2nd of 4 and the only Girl.  My older brother is 2 1/2 years older than me, I am 13 and 14 years older than my 2 younger brothers, they are half brothers, my mom and stepfather, but my stepfather married my mom  when we were 5 and 7 and he is our father for all intends and purposes, so basically my older brother and me raised those 2, and as of this day, (39 and 38 years old) still fight with my parents and call me and my older brother to complain about it, like we can really argue for them LOL.  But we love each other and our parents are in our lives, we can ask for anything better.

As the only girl my parents relay too much on me, but they are my parents and I will not push them away, I love them and will do everything I can for them.

I am the oldest of five girls.  My husband is the middle of 5 children - two older brothers and two younger sisters.  I had one child - a daughter.
Have a wonderful day!

I have 1 younger sister.  My father was killed in an accident and years later my mother remarried.  My oldest step brother and I are the same age ( 3 months apart) and my youngest step brother and sister are 1 month apart.  Weird isn't it?

I am the oldest. I have one Sister who is eighteen months younger than I am. My Mom and Dad wanted to try for a Boy, but my Mom had high risk Pregnancies with my Sister and I. The Doctor told her that she could not have any more Kids because she probably would not live through another Pregnancy.
