Back to School
« on: August 13, 2019, 04:13:46 pm »
I live in Utah and I understand that a lot of kids went back to school today.  I don't have children but I find it interesting that they've already started school.

Have you done all your "back to school" shopping?

Where do you live and when do kids go back to school in your "neck of the woods"?

We also have a College here in town and they haven't started school yet.  When I was younger I really disliked this time of year because I wasn't not a fan of the public school system.  Now, that I'm older I love it because I look forward to autumn.
Have a great day!

It's starting to pick up - schools around here don't start until after Labor Day, but of course you don't want to wait until the last minute....

Schools opened on Monday where I live. The traffic was so crazy on Monday with all the buses on the roads and people dropping off their kids on the first day. Glad the summer is almost over. I am ready for fall now.

Do you allow anyone to come get a back pack?  Or just low income?  We had some problems in my area where churches and groups who done the back packs went to Walmart and wiped them out.  So when regular people who don't ask for a hand out goes in to the store to purchase supplies there are NO pencils, pens, notebooks, paper, etc.  I saw a woman literally with 2 buggies spilling over.  She grabbed EVERYTHING on the shelf.  So people who needed things could not even get them.  No, you can't have one.  I need this for MY church.  Uhm okay....

It gets earlier every year it seems like.  They started the special needs kids last week.  Then officially school starts tomorrow.  Summer went fast.

School should start in September throughout the Northern Hemisphere. August is too hot throughout the hemisphere I just named!

Also, I have no plans to go back to school for now because I can’t study that hard as long at it still could make me dizzy or literally give me a headache.

My cousins in the south in Georgia and North Carolina always went back in August but they also got out earlier.  Where I'm from we always went back the day after Labor Day.

i don't have children but sometimes i take advantage of the back to school sales! :rainbow: :peace:

My Grand Children started back to School on August, 9th which is a Friday. That just does not make sense to start back on a Friday. My Grand Children are attending the same School that my Kids went to and they always started back on Friday too. When I was a Kid, we did not go back to School until after Labor Day.

My granddaughter is staying with me this year and they start school next week, which is early for us.  We're in WI.  They usually don't start here until after Labor Day.  My other granddaughter lives in CA and she started today.  They don't get much summer vacation anymore.  She got out first week of June and goes back mid August, barely 2 months.
