i have never used those services  before bc i was afraid they would be too expensive i guess so!
I have never used those services before because I would be afraid to allow anyone other than a family member or friend bringing food to me.  Who knows what they might do to the food (or what they might sample) in their car between the store and my house? The only time we ever had food delivery to our house was when our daughter was the one who was the delivery driver!

Exactly this -- after all those videos of people licking ice-cream & putting them back in the freezer at the stores lately, I don't trust strangers alone with my food.  America has become a low trust society, very sad.

I have never tried Door Dash. Thought it may be expensive. Seems as though it is.

 :cat:

You saw the same slideshow I did, right?  The one about what happens to your food between the order and the delivery by the driver?   ::)   :sad1:   :BangHead:

Nope - didn't see it. But I have heard people talking about it in general. I actually listened to a podcast recently (wish I could remember who and when) where they were debating over what was "acceptable". They were doing a comedy bit and it was all tongue in cheek, but they were talking about how it was okay for the delivery driver to take a french fry or two, but not okay to take a bite out of a sandwich. Somewhere in the middle was the question of whether you can take a chicken nugget or mozzarella stick or a sip of soda.

The justification was that fries are obviously not individually counted and you aren't necessarily contaminating them all by carefully taking one or two while not touching the others. The fry box is still full.  A drink's volume is not significantly altered if you take a small sip, but if that sip involves a straw that is intended for someone else - you are contaminating that straw if you use it. Chicken nuggets are specifically counted, so even if you can take one without contaminating the others, in doing so you are making a more definite impact on the volume of the food order. Taking an actual bite out of a sandwich both contaminates the sandwich and impacts the food volume and is generally a disgusting thing to do to someone else's sandwich.

So it's a full spectrum there!

I don't think I would use door dash.  To me it would be cheaper and easier to just go pick up what I want myself and I know that it was done in a timely manner.

I don't think we have a door dash around here.  Seems to me that for the places that do have an employed driver wouldn't this be taking money from them?  I am just wondering how door dash works.

UPDATE: I blasted Doordash on twitter. They need to do background checks on drivers. How are you going to put your fingers in someone else's food or sip from their drink? Disgusting Or call them and say your order has been canceled? They literally have your food eating it!

Ahah dude, I totally agree with you, and trust in people fell after they started to cheat. I'm talking about various companies. For example, I recently ordered one company to transport my van to another state for sale to another person. As a result, my car was broken in the process of transportation and I was paid unfortunate 1,500 bucks. So after that I learned not to trust anyone and work with any company only on the basis of feedback from people. For example, I recently came across a company that specializes in transporting vehicles and they have very positive reviews and I will start working with them next year when I order my car from Germany.

I haven't used them, but it is because of the cost.  They would use up all I make here on Fusioncash  :(

I do not intend to EVER order from Door Dash again it is a big rip off.  I got an e-mail for free delivery and $5 off a $10  McDonalds order.  I called them because the promo code wouldn't work (tried to use not ten min after getting the e-mail) so they told me the promo code had reached it's maximum so I said that is the end of my ever using you guys again andd you think they cared?  Nope so I am going to stick to my guns.

I've never used Door Dash.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I've never used a delivery service of any kind as I am not about to pay for something that I can get myself. In the summer I don't mnd getting it at all and in the winter it's usually just a minor inconvenience. If I had some kind of emergency or medical condition, I would use it tempoarily, I suppose.

That's how I feel, too. I'd rather pick up my order myself, Plus, I wouldn't know how much to tip.
