I have a landline phone. We don't have options in our area for landline, we have century link. Also for our internet. The internet is very slow but it's our only option other than Hughsnet and my neighbor has them and said they were expensive and very slow too.

I have a Landline with VOIPO and only pay $180 every two years (so it's about $7.00 a month) and I have a Panasonic phone system that distributes four handsets around the house so I never have to worry about whether my cell phone is charged (or if I can find it). It comes with an amazing set of features that cover everything I would ever need including free long distance anywhere in the U.S. or Canada and inexpensive rates anywhere else.
I'm curious what is VOIPO, I have never heard of that.

I have both a landline and cell phone.  I've had the land line phone forever.

Fifty years for me on a landline, too. I'm with Comcast and bundled services with TV and internet. I don't know why I keep my landline, though, since I only get robocalls.  Of course, they are mostly blocked by Normorobo program that Comcast offers for free (one ring as "Incoming Call" and goes to answering machine). Peace.

by landline do you mean the ones that plug into a phone jack?  No I don't have that.  I do have one that plugs in to an outlet.  I can take it with me where ever I go but it is not a cell phone.  It doesn't run on the net so if I get rid of the internet I still have a phone.  I consider that a landline.  It's not a voip.  I am disappointed with it as I was told it was only going to run 25.00 a month and free long distance.  I get the long distance but I pay more than what I was told for it.

VOIPO is a company that uses Voice Over Internet Protocol to supply phone service. My four handset phome system plugs into an adapter that hooks up to my Internet router, Probably the most well known company that does this is Vonage, but they are a lot more expensive than VOIPO.

yes, I think that at&t is great. the people that work for them are very nice, if you have a problem they're quick to solve it. I've had them for as long as I can remember.

I totally agree with the price for a landline. If I had say in that in my home, I would get rid of my landline all together.

My wife works part-time as a substitute at school and they make robot calls early each morning to make daily job offers, which she would not get reliably without a land line.

We used to have a landline, but not anymore, don't think having a cell and landline phone is too much. Having two phone bills is a bit much. We have WOW internet service with Wi-fi, and Sling TV.
