Wasabi Peas
« on: October 24, 2019, 09:44:23 am »
I really, really, really like wasabi peas! However, I'm kind of picky about them. I used to love the wasabi peas in the tall can, but then they started tasting too sweet for me. I love the ones from our local international market, but it's kind of a hassle to get there, so we only go maybe once every two months. I do not like the Publix wasabi peas, just a taste I don't care for. We looked into making our own wasabi peas, but then found that just the ingredients were expensive, so gave that up pretty quickly. And then FINALLY, my husband found Hoosier Farm wasabi peas pm Amazon and ordered them. They are DELICIOUS! So our wasabi pea-finding mission is over, LOL!

How do you feel about wasabi peas?  :peace:

I've not ever tried Wasabi peas, but have always wondered about them.... I like the taste of Wasabi.

Are they hard like corn nuts, or soft?

Thanks for reminding me I haven't bought them in forever - used to buy them for my sons who love all things hot.  I did buy wasabi macadamia nuts recently and they were awesome.

I've never had wasabi anything. What does it taste like? Is it spicy like habaņeros, or spicy like hot mustard? If it's the first, I'm going to look for it the next time I go shopping. If it's like hot mustard, I'll pass.

I've never tried them, but I don't do well with hot items.  Mild is my choice. ;)

It's like intense horseradish... it will clean out your sinuses :D

Ah thanks, it's probably not for me. I'm not a fan of hot mustard or horseradish, although I would like to try it once anyway. It's not the spicy intense part I don't like. It's the flavor - sour? bitter? pungent? - I don't know what the right word is.
