What would you do...
« on: December 07, 2019, 11:34:36 am »
Just curious - IF you have twitter and some random person followed you and you looked at their bio and you see they are following 7 people, have 0 followers, and are from Iraq...

Would you just let them follow you, follow them back, or block them?  I blocked him.  :confused1: I just thought that was odd.

That is what I did.  I was like WHY would this person want to follow ME?  I also block people who follow me and I check out their bio and it is complete opposite of everything I stand for.

A few months ago, I had a couple requests from people from other countries. I refused to "friend" them. I only confirm friend requests from people I know , relatives, or family members of my family members.  I will only confirm unknown people if I check any posts liked of mine and their background (political ones). I'm very careful with strangers. I guess that's why I only have 126 friends in 10 years. :D.

the only people from other countries I accept friends requests from are rock bands. I have about 95 %  of my followers are rock bands from all over. I get a strange request, I just ignore it and it goes away :peace:

I would block them.  I often check my Facebook account, and find people from other countries following me.  I block them too.

Blocking them sounds like the best response.

If I don't know them or a friend has told me they sent it to them I block or delete them too.

When someone ask me to friend them, I first take a look at their site and if they do not have anyone else or even just 1, I reject them.  Don't have time for the BS.

Well this isn't facebook.  You don't accept friends.  People just follow you.  Then the only way to stop it is to block them.  Most I don't care.  And I do not know any of them personally.  I have actually blocked several that tried to follow me.

I would block them.  I often check my Facebook account, and find people from other countries following me.  I block them too.

I do not do Facebook.  I did years ago.  I deleted it all.  I did not know people could follow you that you were not friends with on Facebook.  On Twitter you don't have "friends".  You have people follow you.

Just because they only have one or two followers doesn't mean they are BS.  You did not start with 100s of followers.  I started Twitter to be a part of a "twitter party" hosted by a site I participated in.  I had the chance to win prizes.  I had 0 followers and followed 0.  I have over 100 followers (I don't care about that anyway) and I don't know how many I follow but it is not a lot.  I have been accused of being a bot and even reported as being a bot by idiots who did not agree with what I was saying.

Yes, unfortunately people can follow you and not be your friends.  When I check who is following me most are from other countries.

On Facebook?  I honestly did not know that.

I would do exactly what you did and block them.  I don't get on twitter anymore but have had a period on facebook where I had all kinds of people want me to "friend" them and I blocked them as well.
