My husband loves meatloaf, but I don't cook it often and I add most of all what you all said

Not what you asked, but I thought I would chime in anyway... There is a really good meat market about 30 minutes away from us that has some really great cuts of meat and a huge deli counter and freezer with a lot of great items. They have a few variety packages with a specific set amount of certain items at a set price. We got one a few weeks and it had a pre-made meatloaf in it. We decided to have it for dinner over the weekend and it was fantastic!  So not exactly "homemade" (and they don't give out their meat mixture recipes), but it was a great meatloaf.

Jalapenos!   :silly:

No jalapenos in it, but I think you said before in another thread that you were in Northwest Ohio area. If it's not too far for you to travel, this meat market was in between Oak Harbor and Fremont.

I love meatloaf.  I put what most people do, onions, green peppers, egg, bread crumbs, a little garlic, ketchup, and a side of mashed potatoes.

I love the onion soup mix idea. I have never used that before but it sure would give it some extra flavor.

That sounds good.  I use what ever I have available at the time.  Crackers or oats.  Egg and what ever sauces I have.  Never the same way twice.

1 and 1/2 ground beef, 1/4 lb. pork sausage, 1 tbsp. mustard, 1/2 cup ketchup, 3/4 cup tomato juice and 1 cup bread crumbs mixed together, salt and garlic salt (guestimate), 2 eggs, 1 onion, 2 stalks celery. Mix well. Shape in pan. Cover with ketchup.

Put them all together, they spell mother.  :in-love: Cook one hour at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cool before slicing. Enjoy! You're welcome. I think this recipe is killer good myself. And don't forget the mashed potatoes.

I finally found a meatloaf I love. Its beef and pork mixture, with white cheddar Cheez-Its, Frenchs fried onions, (use those instead of your bread crumbs) grind those up, add to the mix along with spices, 1 egg.  I do NOT put ketchup in my meatloaf

Fremont/Oak Harbor is only 40 minutes away for me...

I am certain to be too late for leftovers but can provide an address in Colorado with which to send to! Meatloaf sounds so wonderful! Sadly I never made it for my children-I was probably sick of making /eating it in college. Adding Lipton's Dry French Onion soup (or Mrs. Grass dry chicken soup), an egg, bread crumbs, and topping with bacon, with a good grade of chopped chuck was the old go to. As I got older (and had more time) I would add worcestershire sauce, finely chopped onion/celery, ground pork, butter, garlic and milk. I seem to recall baking it at around three hundred and fifty degrees, for about an hour and a half, in a nine by five rectangular dish that was bout four inches high. I had a thing going for green chilis and jalapenos as of late but I generally end up eating the meat loaf myself because it is too spicy for others.

I don't make meatloaf very often, but the last time I made it I used Manwich, which has the tomato sauce, onion and bell pepper already in it and of course eggs and bread crumbs.
