Shopping is definitely not for me especially when there are lots of other shoppers looking for bargains

Yes, Christmas has become so materialistic, this puts pressure on people to prove their love by giving expensive gifts, to make people they love happy....

I used to be a "shop till you drop" kind of lady but about 20 years ago that started to change rapidly.  For one thing, my body couldn't withstand being on my feet for hours at a time because I was somewhat out of shape then.  I also began to see how my pocketbook would benefit from not being out in the stores all the time.  I started being somewhat overwhelmed in stores that are not well organized.  This had never used to bother me.  Finally, about 10 years ago, I started thinking more and more about what I need versus what I want. Asking myself this question before each purchase has saved me a lot of money and the environment from accumulating more junk!

I do most of my shopping online these days but on those rare occasions I do to a brick and mortar, I usually go with my one daughter who is fun to shop with. We usually make a day of it and go out for lunch in the middle of our outing. I always have a great time even if there is traffic and long lines at the checkout because I don't do it very often.
