I don't think they should set a legal age of 21 years for kids to use cell phones. I agree that kids with cell phones tend to block out actual daily activities. I watch my nieces stick their faces in front of one while having a family dinning out event. i think the age restrictions should be brought down to 16yrs with many restrictions on the phone's apps, device functions.

Who in the country is trying to pass a law like that? Kids are basically adults when they are 18. How could you ban them from using a phone for another three years? Lots of parents like their kids to have phones so they can call them and find out where they are whenever they want to. Nobody would vote for a law like this.

A little extreme to say the least....though it is crazy how young some kids receive cell phones these days!

So where does it stop?  Is it okay to ban sodas for kids? Is it okay to ban how many hours a day kids can watch tv?  If you are not the parent it is nothing to you.  There are tons of apps you can get for your phone just like software for your computer.  Just because you see a person on their phone doesn't mean they are wasting time on social media.

Pretty sure this was all a joke any way.  It was something to distract from something else.  He knew it would never pass.  It was put out there to further divide and get people to fight and argue about something stupid while something more important was shoved through without any one noticing.

You would be surprised who all would vote for something like this.  I don't remember who it was but if you google you can find it.  I saw it some where other than on here.

That doesn't even make any sense at all. Does that mean someone is going to be carding everyone who looks under 21 with a cell phone. lol :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake:

Yes, I agree kids that are 6 and 7 years old never needs a cellphone.  But these days I see kids that are about 8-10 with a cellphone.  But in today's environment, this is the way of keeping apprise of where their children are.

So why draw the line there.  7 does not need a phone but 8 well that is okay? No, if I want my child to have a life line to be able to contact me if they need to then that is MY business.  I see kids very young in Walmart in the buggy playing on a phone while the mom shops.  I see nothing wrong with that.   I do think if you give your kid a smart phone you need to monitor what they are doing.

I've never heard of this but I don't agree with the age when one can work at 16 and then it becomes necessary.

15 sounds like a good age to me.

A little high, I would go for 15.
