Frozen Biscuits
« on: February 09, 2020, 11:57:45 am »
Due to my son's recent unemployment we have stopped eating out at McDonalds for breakfast.  We found these frozen biscuits at the grocery that are out of this world and the closest to homemade that I think you can find.  Have you ever tried bags of frozen biscuits.  They are yum.

I use the Pillsbury frozen buttermilk biscuits all the time.  They are so convenient and taste so good.  My aunt use to make her biscuits and I have watched her and I think I could make them like she did.  I'm going to try one day.

I too eat the frozen biscuits.  I love the ones that have honey in them.  Yummy.

I'm not a big biscuit eater, but I do know a good homemade biscuit will practically melt in your mouth.  On National Pie Day (Jan. 23rd) there is a local café (been serving comfort food to the North Texas area since 1956) that offers a free slice of mile-high pie to honor that day with a dine-in purchase.  So...ordered the biscuits and gravy in order to get the pie.  Oh my!  Forgot how good those biscuits are.

Can Pillsbury Grands! stack up to these?  I've used the refrigerated biscuits before and like them.  Now, after reading these comments, I think I'll try the frozen ones -- hmmm...may be the best?  :highfive:

I too love the pillsbury biscuits.  I get the frozen sausage and make my own version of sausage biscuits like the one at McDonald's.

I only eat made from scratch biscuits, dont like the taste of the tubed ones. I did see a bag of frozen biscuits at the store the other day, they are kind of octagon shaped.

I like biscuits and gravy, I am from the south. I don't care for the frozen Jimmy Dean brand, pillsbury are pretty good.

I love canned Biscuits too. I really love the Pilsbury Grands Flaky with butter. They are so good with White Gravy poured over them.

I like the Pillsbury biscuits too but hubby's tastes have changed and he thinks they're too "sweet." I used to use them to make pizza but the last two times I did that, he complained that the "crust" wasn't right, and ate  it "under protest." Ah, well. I have a problem opening the cans lately anyway. :D

The Pillsbury tubes are pretty blah I think. I recently tried frozen rolls called Sister Schubert's and I like those a lot, but I wonder if making my own would be cheaper if I wanted them that often.
