I was listening to the news last night, when I heard them mention a town in my state.  So I quick looked it up and I heard right.  A surgeon will accept cash and set up a plan to pay your bill.  Most importantly, he also has an option for the patient to volunteer his or her time to work off the bill.  What an awesome idea.  Hope more doctors adopt this solution.  I don't agree with school kids volunteering as a way to get their diploma but I can support this idea as a form of payment.  Everyone wins.

I also think this is a good idea. For some folks, a solution like this to pay a doctor's bill is the only way they can pay a doctor's bill. My doctor's practice makes sure their patients with no insurance are charged a much lower rate. I myself have health insurance, but I still go there because I really like my doctor and for the fact that their practice isn't in it for the large profit but because they want to help people with their health.

I heard that is how it happened when I was young.  When insurance wasn't as much used as it is today.

That is an absolutely awesome idea.  I don't know but I think things are gonna get to the point again where financially things are not gonna be that great for a lot of folks - not trying to be negative but if you google it I think things are not that great for a lot of folks now and if you need surgery wow that gives hope.

That's a good idea and a more reasonable solution than just saying that medical care shouldn't cost so much in the first place. Well that problem isn't going to get solved overnight so in the meantime this sounds helpful.
