Dry skin in the winter
« on: February 18, 2020, 07:33:01 pm »
Don't forget to put body oil or cream (or a combination of both) immediately after your shower or bath, especially on areas where your skin is dry. You can even put it on while you're still wet. Your skin will absorb it and keep your skin softer and not so itchy.

Good to know.  :in-love:

A helpful reminder, as we age we need it more than in our younger days!  I've liked using Baby oil (cream style) but can no longer find it on the shelf.  So I might try adding baby oil to another bottle of lotion from the .99 cent store and make my own (sorta)  any scent will work and it would be less expensive than purchasing and using full bottles of lotion by itself.

That is a good reminder.  Thanks.  I try to  take the time to use my mixture of vaseline, vitamin E, shea butter, and coconut oil.  Works well.

One of the many reasons I hate winter.  My feet especially get dry.

Always good advise to remember.  Coconut oil is particularly good.  ;)

My husband swears by goat milk soaps.  They are very soothing.  I like them too, but I do well with regular body wash and I do apply lotion following my shower.

Yes, I always change my skin/body routine during the seasons, in winter I I love any lotions with oils they tend to moisturize well.
