Working Out

My Dr suggested I workout to Youtube Videos and so far I have..for 2 days to be exact. I have been worn out, tired, and not motivated because I can't keep up with the others on youtube. I'm not extremely overweight, slightly but it's tough.

It is rough to start working out when you haven't in a while. It is better to start out small and work up to more reps on stuff. Being consistent is important. Tell yourself you like working out. That you are fit, firm and muscular. Say where you would like to be and one day you will be there. Eventually your words will become reality. I wish you the best.

I treat my workouts as a reward to myself (much like my morning cup of deathwish coffee). Getting an hour break, to lift weights, from three jobs every other day is a true luxury. thirty to forty minutes of cardiovascular exercise on my off days (from weights) lets me sort through e-mails, plan my next two days, enter my diet and get my head together, I want to try and find time to get thirty minutes in the sauna and fifteen minutes in the hot tub per week in order to release toxins and gain more focus. Just like work outs I will have to start out slow and build up a tolerance. I love going to our health club but can only get so many things done in a day. I have been engaging in intermittent fasting as well: eating during a three hour period and fasting the other twenty one hours. I do this to minimize time wasted eating and lower my weight. I have three exceptions per week where I will have a protein shake after my weight workouts.

When I started out, I'd walk in place if I couldn't keep up with the workout moves.  Just keep moving.  Don't push so hard that you get defeated.

work out at your own pace at modify ..so you cant keep up with the others..you will get stronger each day,, and before you you will realize you made it through the whole workout and kept up...good luck

I would like to work out.  Not much more like just 15 minutes a morning.  So far the best I have been able to do is watching yoga.  LOL.  but now that I have my grandson all day and it's cold out side.  This sounds like a good thing for us to be doing.  Thanks for the post.

find something you like to do and start out slow . don't worry about keeping up with everyone else. the only thing is improving yourself.some people like to walk ,swim or do yoga. find what you like and keep doing a little longer each day. as you get stronger  you can add other things into your workout like weights .
i like the elliptical now i do it for an hour 3-4 times a week and do another workout with weights etc a couple times a week.

Exercising is tough, especially if you haven't done it for a while or you're trying something new. Don't worry about keeping up. It's okay to take a short break. You can pause the video, or just join back in when you can. The most important thing I learned from yoga is: listen to your body! It's supposed to be difficult, but don't overdo it because that's how you get hurt and/or discouraged. It's the hardest in the beginning, but do the best you can and be consistent. Your body and mind will adjust, and you'll start to feel less tired and sore afterwards. Any exercise is better than none. Keep it up!  :thumbsup:

Don't try to keep up; just do the pace you can as you do more; then you will be better able to keep up.

I also have a problem keeping up with the exercisers on YouTube! Of course, I'm extremely overweight, so really any sort of aerobic activity takes the breath out of me very quickly. I've finally decided that walking at a slow pace is about all I can do, so my husband and I walk around the backyard when it's not raining.  :peace: :heart:

Yay.  Congratulations on your start to a healthier you.  It will not be easy but the benefit is well worth it.  I pray that you will be successful in your attempt and that you will begin to enjoy it enough to keep going

I need to start working out too but nothing too strenuous. Some pull-ups and pushups for 30 minutes a few times a week should be fine.

It happens mate no matter what motivation you may have, Longest I lasted was 2 months and it was for my sisters wedding after that I just got lazy and stopped again.

I have lost 55 pounds since September of last year and I really need to start adding a workout routine to this new life style of mine it would help me firm up my body where I’m now sagging But I just can’t get motivated to do it

   Personal fitness is an everyday thing! Good weather will be here soon.
When the snow and ice are completely gone from your local sidewalks, put your sneakers on,       put some sunscreen on and wear your sunglasses and start brisk walking or even jogging.
If you like biking, just do it or visit your gym and use one. Start slow and increase your pace.
It is your health...it is your life!
