Yes weddings can be very expensive; I use to do wedding planning apart from my full time job before I retired and the first thing I would have the couple to  do was a budget and then take a look at that and see where cuts could be made but still have a nice wedding. Some items and vendors are expensive; that's why it's important to start early and shop around.

I agree the pries are outrageous, my brother's best friend got married on a Sunday, a wedding on Sunday was 35% cheaper than on a Saturday so.  The look at the calendar and chose to marry the weekend of the Columbus Day Holiday, a Sunday and since Monday was off because of the Holiday it worked out good for them and they safe 35% of the cost

Hopefully she will only get married once and if she have been saving for it why not. Wedding do cost but this is what she wants.  Maybe they alright have some place to live.

I got married long enough ago, that the cost was not outrageous. I like a big, flashy extravagant wedding as long as I don't pay for it.

Yikes! I am not married, but I hope to be in the next couple of years. This is one of the reasons I want to pay off most of my debts as soon as possible. In the meantime, reading this thread seriously makes me want to brainstorm how I can save some money.

I think it was him and a woman who has not been on here in a long time.  I talked to her off this site.  And she said they had talked off the site. OR I think it was him.  She has not been on in a long time but I don't think anything happened to her. She was trying to move and some other stuff. 

I think a lot of people that have quit fooling with this site because of the lack of being able to make money just don't get on here.  They are not going to cruise the forums if they are not making money on the site.  These forums use to be more of a fun place to be. But lately are more of a hostile episode of a jr high mean girls movie.

I would honestly suggest investing. Its one thing to have money accumulate over time but why not have that savings accrue some interest?
