Appliances
« on: March 18, 2020, 08:20:11 am »
We just bought a white washing machine (maytag) Yet we have a stainless steel fridge and a stainless steel stove. My son bought this for us so I wanted to save him 50 bucks on a metallic washer to go with the others that all 3 are in our kitchen. My son said "Ma why didn't you get the metallic to go with the rest" I said I wanted to save you money....now looking at the 3 are making me nuts lol...does anyone else have different color appliances in their kitchen? I know this is a weird question but...………. ::)

I don't but have friends that do and did so to save some money and it really doesn't bother them or me, its their choice.

I have a white stove and a stainless steel refrigerator right beside each other.  Doesn't bother me.

If I were replacing appliances, I'd buy matching appliances.  Today I would go with Slate gray stainless steel.  Not a shiny finish.

I still have the almond fridge from '96 aside of a stainless steel microwave which is aside of a stainless steel cooktop which is aside of a black coffee pot aside of a black '85 Tappan double oven across from a black dishwasher.  I was going to buy a SS dishwasher but I went for the cheaper one with the inner stainless steel tub. I've wanted SS since it came out but prices are ridiculously high so I'll stick with what I have. The only reason I have a '96 fridge is because my '67 2nd hand side-by-side avocado green could no longer be repaired in '96. I had it since '76 and had two repairs on it. I hated the green color anyway. :D

We have both white and stainless steel appliances in our kitchen. I think those two colors compliment each other. Does anyone here remember when kitchen appliances (and washers and dryers) used to be harvest gold and avocado green? Now, those were the days, LOL!  :peace:

Maytag's are great. I had washer for 21 years & started leaking on Sunday night. So, I called repair man out for Wednesday appointment. Went to  Home Depot to see what they have available. So I cancel the appointment!

I bought a Samsung Washer & Dryer set! It was cheaper to buy a set than for just washer! Washer has a deep tub & no agitator! Washer & Dryer will be delivered tomorrow!

Our appliances were a cream color, then the stove died and we got a white one because I prefer white. So we had one white and one beige appliance. It never bothered me. Now we have all-white.

We have a stainless fridge and dishwasher and a black oven/stove. We have white washer and dryer - and the dryer just conked out on Wednesday. Of course it is out of warranty. We've had three different washer/dryer sets in just 15 years and don't know yet what is going to happen THIS time with repairs. I don't really want to go out to the laundromat during this virus outbreak, but it looks like that is the direction things will be going...
