I work in a retirement home, so I'm going to work every day -- we're on lockdown, so there aren't any outside visitors.  When I'm home, I am working on surveys and coloring!

What diff does that make? Serious question. YOU are not on lock down. You leave and go to the store or where ever else and go home and back to the nursing home. Employees are just as big of a threat if they are leaving the facility and returning. Not sure what the answer is but I know this is going to devastate people who actually get visitors every day.  I saw where one woman died with this virus and she died in a room by herself because they would not let her family, any of them, be with her.

They are just trying to minimize the number of people coming and going, so there is less risk to the residents. So it's only employees posing a threat and not both employees AND visitors. But yeah, I feel really awful for the older folks that aren't allowed to see their families.

My Pappaw was in a nursing home and something like this would have devastated him. Hopefully they can still receive mail or packages but I wonder if they stop that too?  I can see both sides.  I would hope employees are minimizing social activities but unless household members are doing the same it doesn't matter. A church member, her husband had emergency surgery a couple days ago and they would not let his wife stay at the hospital.  She had to leave.  They call her and give her updates.
