Tired of the daily death count.

So, fewer people WORLDWIDE have died of this than die every year of the flu, here, in the US.  So why the daily death count?  Why not a daily flu death count?  Or a daily cancer death count?  Or heart attack.  Or stroke.  There's like a 98% recovery rate but, you never hear that.  Just really, really tired of hearing about this virus and the apocalypse.  Sheesh!  The way the news talks about it, everyone who gets it will die and that isn't true.

I agree with you.  I am sick and tired of it also.  I just don't know anymore what I think is the real deal with this stuff but I am too old with too many health issues to take a chance.

I think the percentages you quoted may be slightly off or perhaps it is just today's numbers: two thousand two hundred and thirty six deaths as of today and three thousand two hundred and thirty eight recoveries. I do not think the recovery rate was ever close to ninety eight percent but welcome you to provide your source of information. There is too much media coverage if you let it happen. I have to check the news for one to two hours, Mondays through Fridays, as part of my job but really do not focus on the tolls whether they are related to stroke, cancer or flu. This is a new statistic, to be sure, but there is very little that one individual can do to stop the masses from exposing themselves. Sadly most people have nothing to do but watch news and so much of what the media spews out is skewed (CNN and Fox are the worst).

Apart from telling us about the death toll, they need to show us the recovery rate also, this will give us a better picture of what is going on and in which are of the coutry....

This whole thing was simply a panic brought about by the Left & their willing accomplices in the media to try and paint Trump as an incompetent. (seeing as they couldn't impeach him for treason- one the most laughable moments in history)

The numbers don't back up the amount of "crisis" we're under. But now we have ANOTHER month of quarantine to deal with....

I'm trying to pay attention less and less...I'm conscious of the concern for the virus and doing my best to stay out of harm's way, but agree that too much negativity can make it worse....

It's a consperancy by the government, trying to make Dump Trump look good!Why quarantine everyone including the healthy citizens. The people that need to be quarantined is the very sick, the very old, & those with underling conditions. I think the worst don't have close contact virus was the abola virus. Touching, breathing, on uninfected ppl will 9/10 chances of getting the virus!

In my house 2 of us have severely weakened immune systems.  So here it might very well be a death sentence.

This virus is not the result of conspiracy theories on either the left or the right.  It is the result of a new, mutated virus that had been in animals and mutated so it was able to live in humans.  There is no vaccine, there is no effective cure so far, and scientists and doctors are learning about it as they collect data during its highly contagious progress. It is more contagious than the flu.
Testing and data is what will bring about a cure and perhaps a vaccine.  Data provides knowledge of how it is spreading, how fast it is spreading, and where it is spreading.  It also provides knowledge about what is working to circumvent it. It is like it is now due to a number of factors and one is a failure of common sense.
