I read about a elementary school student who was suspended for selling squirts of hand sanitizer to his class mates for fifty cents a pop. He pocketed eleven dollars before he was suspended. Suspension seems a little harsh-thinking he may have done something else in his past. My son said that there was a kid up at his campus that had purchases seven packages of toilet paper with ninety six rolls in each and was selling the rolls individually at seven dollars a pop. My son said he sold out in one day-before authorities found out about it. That is six thousand, seven hundred and twenty dollars in one day. We have our regular stock of toilet paper which is set to hold us through the end of April. We are not hoarders, we have always kept a little over months supply on hand in case our kids come home, which it looks like they might.

Wow both were very smart at hustling. I suppose we all are capable of making money through this difficult time we each are going through. Where there is a will there is a way. While many businesses are closing there doors many new businesses are being created. Life is whatever you make of it.

I don't think selling squirt hand sanitizers for 50 cents a pop is not a crime. The real thief/price hiker's the 2nd kid selling 1 roll of toilet paper for 7 bucks a each! I don't think the kids should be punished unless they've had school wide meeting stating to the students the rules & regulations of school policy in the area selling product on school grounds.

"California law prohibits price-gouging for consumer goods and services during a declared emergency. A violation of this is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for no more than a year, a fine with a maximum of $10,000, or both", so check local laws.

With kids I would think it might be a teaching moment.  A discussion might be more effective than suspension.
