Easter Eve/What do you do?
« on: April 11, 2020, 09:43:25 am »
After years of working I finally have the  time to do Easter stuff with now my grandkids.  I didn't have time when my kids where growing up because I always worked holidays.  So I am looking forward to the traditional egg dying.  I ask my 12 yr old granddaughter how many eggs she wanted to color.  She says Oh, not a lot.  So I said 3?  She laughs and says you read my mind.  She also grew up with out the excitement of coloring eggs.  I am so looking forward to coloring eggs.  What are some of the things you do for Easter?

When my girls were young we would hide the eggs in the yard for them.  As they got older we would color the eggs and they always got Easter baskets.  This year nothing is being done due to the virus.  Just my husband and me for dinner, not like the previous years.

Don't have an answer to this one.  I am 66 with a grown son living with me.  No grandchildren.  So I guess I will just do my normal not Easter Eve stuff.  I used to make a coconut cake for Easter so maybe I will do that - can't think of anything else.  Might boil eggs but I wouldn't color them under my circumstances.  I don't think I even have any food coloring on hand.  Well whatever all are doing I hope you have fun.

I don't do anything for Easter.  My car died today so I have to spend tomorrow getting roadside assistance and getting a battery.

Congratulations on having the opportunity to celebrate with your grandchildren this year.  We didn't do anything special on Easter Eve  - just small gift Easter morning and then church.  That's what it is all about.  :)

Well we didn't do anything.  They went some where else.  I was home with the dog.

Usually would be having a big ol feast with the family, this year I don't think we'll be doing anything but tuning into an online church service and talking to family on the phone.

We had a traditional Easter dinner ham with various side dishes. Instead of 18 dining companions, it was just the two of us.  Watched our church service on YouTube.  And outside a blizzard is raging.
