WOW - I wonder what most people would do.  I would contact the IRS to return the money.

That's great.  I am sure some one other than he will catch that error.  So I would not spend it.

I saw this too on Facebook and when he called the bank they told him that balance in his account was 8.2 million and had no idea why the receipt read this but did tell him the stimulus payment was deposited

Nice surprise, but don’t spend it.  We all know they will see the mistake and you will have to pay it back.

They would likely catch it sooner or later. I really don't know what I would do.  I might just let it ride a few days and see what happened. lol

Not really sure I think he would have done wrong if he had spent the money. HE did not do anything wrong. Things like this have happened before where a lot of money got deposited in to the wrong account.

Oh my goodness !  No wonder I haven't gotten mine yet.  Seriously my son got his but it doesn't fully post until tomorrow.  I am checking on mine every couple of days.  Gosh I hope all of this ends soon.

Easy. They reverse the payment.
