I have washable masks that I rotate,,  wear one, then another one,,  wash them two and wear the 3rd one while the others is being washed and dried.  A friend made them for me.   I don't go out much so that helps me a lot

My husband and I ordered some on ebay a few weeks ago. I also have some disposable ones. My husband had one in his pocket that I did not know about and it did get washed in the washing machine. It held up though.

I purchased some from City Threads dot com -- they're cotton. $8.50 after the 15% off coupon.

I also purchased some from Nine Line, which is a Veteran Owned apparel company who is selling them at cost because his mother is a nurse & his father has cancer so he is just fulfilling a need.

10 for $9.50

Hope that Helps.

I went to that website. It is just a thin stretchy material & most likely won't help anything at all. But thanks for sharing!  :)

There are a few out there on you tube that you don't have to sew.  However, fabric glue will work just as well as a sewing machine.

My friend made on for me. It is cute but i am afraid it will come apart in the wash. So i spay it with lysol.
There was a local company making masks out of denim fabric. For every one bought they would donate on the healthcare workers. So I bought 2.  They are really cute and washable! :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

I heard a lot about them as friends in China said that they are more sustainable and could last longer. I am going to order some to give it a try. I also saw alternatives which are washable on the outside and have a pouch for changing filters.

The City Threads masks are thick & double cotton. Very nice.

The Nine Line ones - I just received my order of these & they are in fact VERY thin... I wear them in the morning to run as I can easily breathe through them, as for protection I believe they'll decrease viral load somewhat - 50% with single layer cotton, but not the best for that definitely. Perhaps if someone puts a coffee filter between two or something like that, if they're desperate for a mask. I would not recommend these.
Thankfully, I ordered other masks from other companies that are surgical grade that also have come in :)

On a side note: DISNEY, just today, made available a whole bunch of Disney themed masks that are super cute, I just preordered a bunch... $19.99 for 4 & all proceeds go to charity.

I've bought a few on etsy, and my fiancé is making me one. I know they're not as effective as an N95 mask, but it's better than nothing.

I volunteer at a soup kitchen and another volunteer made us  washable masks.  They a pouch where a coffee filter can be inserted and changed out as needed.  I also made some disposable ones  out of paper towels and vacuum cleaner bags with ponytail clips to go around the ears.

I purchased some masks, but I am going to make my own.  Something with color so that I don't get too stressed out wearing a mask.

I had a couple of masks stowed away with my stuff that had been purchased a few years back (used for allergy protection in the spring when doing yardwork).  They had never been worn so I'm good to go.  However, I like a lot of the homemade ones you see popping up everywhere now. 😷

Mostly from online retailers like amazon and ebay though be wary as some can be badly made.

One of my neighbors is making masks daily and putting them in a box outside her home for whoever needs one to take one.  No cost.  If you feel like paying she will accept a donation to buy more supplies so she can make more masks.  I love seeing people who are trying to help just because they can and want to.
