Masks a must
« on: April 15, 2020, 07:05:10 pm »
The governor of Pennsylvania just proclaimed all employees of any type of store must wear a mask.  All customers entering the store must have a mask on, if not you will be denied entrance.

Wow, are the cases high in Pennsylvania?

Here in California masks are suggested, but it is a city by city call on whether it is mandatory or not... it seems to be working out for us.

Personally I think that is a good idea - masks, everyone wear masks & lets open up America already.
The fact that our homeless here in Cali, 58,000 on the streets nightly in Los Angeles alone, aren't engaging in social distancing, aren't wearing masks, aren't continually washing their hands & STILL aren't spreading Covid-19 is quite telling.

Are they going to supply the masks? I think ppl are fixing to revolt! I saw where some places are refusing to sell items they deem non-essential. So basically only selling food and meds. Smh I am starting to think we are not going to come out of this.

My hubby has been going to the store when necessary. When I told him this, he said he won't be going to the store anymore. It's bad enough that the one store will only allow a certain number in the store at one time and he's not going to stand in line outside for permission to get into the store. Wearing masks should be voluntary. Even if you're wearing one, you can still get the virus. The governor is kinda behind in his mandates since the start.

My husband's father told him back in the '70s that if he thought the great depression was bad, just wait. There would be another one that would make the '20s depression look like a party. It would be so bad a wheelbarrow of cash wouldn't buy a loaf of bread. I'm hoping this isn't it or else there will be a lot of starving people in this country unless they learn how tos survive through gardening and food preservation.

I don't believe that.  People predict crap all the time.  Some comes true and some doesn't.  Any person with any sense at all can see we are headed for a recession and possibly a depression. It is what the demoncrats want. Anything to try to keep Trump from being elected again.  You think it is bad now?  Wait until they are back in control!  There is no way things can keep going like the are.  The economy is already crashing.  People are buying everything in site and eventually they won't need anything else for a while.  Except some are buying huge amounts and then trying to resell at inflated prices.  There is an easy fix.  Just do not buy from them.  Eventually somebody will bust their head and take it and I guess it will be worth it then huh.

Gardening and canning are useless unless you have seeds now and have a place to grow a garden.  The majority of people do not.  Then if things are that bad you will need a guard to stand by at night and all day to watch the veggies or somebody will come and take it.  I don't know how bad things are going to get and it scares me to think about it.  I do know you can't shut the world down and just expect things to keep working.  There are already food plants shutting down every where and they keep saying how there WILL be food shortages.  Then in the same breath say oh but don't panic.  You can not stand on a train track and say  THERE IS A TRAIN and in the same breath say oh but take your time moving off the track.

Something else that would make a "depression" worse today is there are too many pansy snowflakes in the world today.  Too use to comfort and luxury and having things handed to them. Not use to not having it all at their fingertips. Back in the 30s most people didn't have that much to begin with.  MOST people did not know there was a depression.  They lived on their farms and lived off their farms. They did not go to the store and buy milk and bread. Did not have luxuries. They had a house and they worked the farm, kids played outside, when it got dark you went to bed.

Hiya! :) :D

Wow that seems a bit drastic to me. Wearing a mask or not seems like a personal choice. Nonetheless we all do need to be careful and stay safe. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

We are doing the same in New Jersey. I don't mind, I want to be protected and I want to protect the people that have to work.

This policy makes a lot of sense. If only the healthcare organizations (CDC, WHO) had sussed out that everyone should wear a mask (instead of saying that masks wouldn't help at all outside of a healthcare setting), then we might not be quite as bad off as we are. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 and they only gave the information they really knew about this virus.  :peace:

It should be recommended but not required...costs money to buy them.....not easy to get....same with gloves which don't really do anything beneficial, just spread germs around...
