Another month of stay at home
« on: April 24, 2020, 05:25:24 pm »
Governor of Illinois extended our stay at home for another month until May 30th and will look at the statics before saying about the future. Eased some restrictions but very little still opening.  Guess I rather be safe than sorry.  Just home it warms a bit to sit on my deck.

I know I don't like ti but we have had so many cases and deaths that he had no other choice. I go to work each day since landscaping is considered an essential job.

I think we will start opening on the 27 a few things and add more things every 14 days. It will take till the end of June to be completely open and at an time we will have to start all over.

I can't believe Georgia and other states that think it is safe to just try now to go back to normal.  Some Georgia restaurant chef's a d owner's said they are not reopening now that they don't feel like it is safe.  I guess that means they have more sense than their Governor.  There are people in Florida congregating unprotected and demanding the state open back up.  I guess they don't realize people are still becoming critically ill with Covid-19

I live in Georgia and our governor opened up hair salons, nail salons, bowling alleys, etc. yesterday. We're due to open up restaurants for table service come Monday. I'm hoping that people will still use some sense and, at least in some of these scenarios, they would still social distance and wear face masks just to kind of play it safe, at least for a while. My husband is not scheduled to go back to work (at a large software firm) until May 18th (possibly later), so I'm glad they're not going to be jumping into the deep end of the pool just yet. But I do feel for the small businesses who don't have any padding to survive this close down, and I guess that's what our governor is trying to help with.  :peace:

I live in MA. We have been in mandatory lockdown mode since the middle of March. Initially the plan is May 4th, now the Governor of MA said schools are closed for the reminder of the year (June) with no specific date for when the lockdown in state will reopen yet. This creates so much uncertainty for my family.

I live in Georgia and I'm glad the governor is reopening the state. He's not forcing anyone to go outside nor is he forcing any business to reopen. If it was up to some people we would have to shelter-in-place forever.

Our state (Colorado) eases restrictions tomorrow (April twenty seventh) while Denver eases restrictions in a little over a week (May eighth). My day time job is having us working from home until further notice and unsubstantiated rumors estimate that we will not be coming back into the office until July first. My cousin (works for one of the largest banks in the world and lives in Chicago, Illinois) is working from home until July fifth. I prefer to work from home because I do not have to waste an average of twenty minutes commuting to wo/from work, reduce my carbon imprint (reliance on foreign countries for fuel) and am much more productive as I have minimal interruptions at home. I also cut showers back to every other day and shaving to once a week.

Governors can open their states, but people have a choice.  I don't believe politicians are the best leaders. You know what's best for you.

On our Facebook Live church service this morning, they announced that we would continue to have virtual church until the end of May.  That suits me fine.  I'm not yet comfortable being around people who may or may not be a danger.  You can't tell by looking!

Illinois has definitely had a rough time with this virus! There are some other states that should probably stay shut down for longer, but they're planning on opening up soon!

I live in Ca and actually don't know how long this will continue after April 30th. Dad works as an essential worker, just not working as many shifts as before. Grocery shopping is crazy as you must wait in lines to get in stores. Kinda crazy as this goes on and hope everyone is well and hope finances are ok as well.
