You have to be in it to win it....
« on: April 29, 2020, 08:50:48 pm »
I have often heard that phrase and think I should enter as many contest as possible in order to win something. Well, it does not work for me.  How many winners do we have out there and how many entries did you submit?

I rarely win things. Especially on survey sites.

Hi!

I think it is about working hard that is how you win. As for myself I have yet to win anything though I would be very happy.

I had a dream this morning as I was waking up that I won a brand new Cadillac and that is about as close as I usually get.

I have never win before, so I rarely enter into contest.

Thinking back I have actually won a few things.  And one really big thing. No you can't win if you don't enter. But I am not going to enter every thing coming along either. Just what I really would want to win. Not interested in wining something to turn around and sell it.

Well your odds go up if you enter a few contests but your odds are alwasy the same beacause usually the contests get more or less based on whats being given away at the time. BUt it is true you cant win if you don't try just like the lottery the chances of winning are low but can't win if you don't try

I never win anything.  Some people are lucky.  Being in it to win it is such a stupid cliche'.

I employed that mind frame in several races that I was not prepared for. By jumping in, putting one foot in front of the other, I would finish some crazy races and felt that just by finishing I was winning. I would than train for a year so that I could move up higher in the rankings/field. I like the game show they created with a similar name "Minute to Win it". I have not watched it in a long time but they used to expose contestants to all kinds of wild tasks like trying to get a quarter into the hole of a five gallon jug from ten feet away within one minute. I would take notes on the different contests and than introduce them at corporate team builders.People loved trying it and it usually generated comments for months as well as helping employees learn the names of others.

I have come to the realization during my lifetime that if there's a 50/50 chance to win or lose in a situation, I will almost always lose.  :dontknow:

With regard to the lottery, I think that is the least likely way to ever win anything. The odds are absolutely astronomically and overwhelmingly against you. :bunny:

That reminds me of my early 20's when I raced motorcycles across the California Dessert (often for 150 miles) and finishing at all was a proud accomplishment.

That phrase doesn't work for me either most of the time, but I did win $500 from the NC Lottery because I enter tickets for the second chance drawing.
