3 hours ago · NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Little Richard, one of the chief architects of rock ‘n’ roll whose piercing wail, pounding piano and towering pompadour irrevocably altered popular music while introducing black R&B to white America, died Saturday after battling bone cancer. He was 87.

I was saddened to hear about his passing. People magazine is stating that he died of bone cancer. May he RIP!

Wow he was and always will be a legend for sure. Prayers for peace and comfort for his family, fans and friends. 87 years old amazing.

I remember him and his songs well. I didn’t read he had bone cancer, what a shame. RIP you gave us some great music.

Always been a big fan of his! Obviously one of Rock and Roll's legends, he'll be dearly missed but his music will immortalize him forever!

I read that Tutti Frutti was originally about a-n-a-l sex, and they made him change the lyrics. I'll never hear that song the same way again.

That man was a legend. He influenced a lot of musicians like Michael Jackson and Prince.

He was my favorite hands down during my High School years and will always bring back fond memories. May his family and the millions of followers cherish his contributions. His music will live forever.
