I work from home regardless. We are still open since we are considered an essential business but the amount of work coming in comes in pieces.

I have a friend in her late 70's who works at a department store just because she likes working there.  She says she will keep working as long as she is able.  She enjoys getting out of the house and having something to do.  Her mother was the same.  I remember her mother working in a local department store when she was past working age.  Like mother, like daughter.

Obviously we need money to live and pay bills but If money were no issue do you really want to go back to work?  I've been on leave but if I had a choice I wouldn't even work.  I don't miss it.

If you don't return to work - your employers will FIRE you

I want to make some money but i don't want to get sick and die, if i want to choose one option it would be to live as long as i can. ;)

My job is essential.  So, I haven't stopped working.  Need the money.  Need to make ends meet.

Yes!  You have to go back to work!!!!  When your company determines it's safe, they need you back!!

I've been in our office working every day since this situation began.  I missed my vacation, worked extra hours (without extra pay because I'm salaried) and now I've going to "lose" my vacation time because I wasn't able to take time off and use it.

I'm sure you somewhat enjoyed some of this time off, but the rest of us who have been doing everyone's jobs and keeping businesses afloat are tired and need you to return.  I won't get any time off when our non-essential workers return, but at least I can go back to just doing my own work.

We essential workers didn't have the choice of not working.  Not really looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.  (off today because of holiday, but it's an unpaid holiday).

I'm retired so I do not have to go back.  I always hated going back after a week off, so I can not image going back after 8 weeks off.

I am retired but if I weren't I would look for any possibility not to go back to work in fact I don't go anywhere I don't have to go - pretty much the grocery twice a month.

I already work from home so it doesn't make a difference to me. It's just a matter of the volume that comes in on a given day.

I haven't stopped working during this COVID-19 shutdown.  I am working overtime most weeks.  We have openings available but no applicants.  People are content to receive their stimulus checks and those that get the $600 extra weekly check earn more not working than some people who work full time....so they don't want a job.

Exactly. If their job calls them back and they refuse (cause they are a scared snowflake) if the company turns them in they lose the benefits. As far as receiving "stimulus checks" everyone got one of those. And there was only ONE.  I don't think there will be another one. But you are right about unemployment. Most are making close to $1000 a week which is double or more what they were making while working so WHY would they get a job?

The only job openings in my area are stuff like fast food and retail. So not many are applying for that. Can't say that I blame them. I don't think any of them laid off although some took a voluntary leave of absence but they were not eligible for unemployment.

No, I am perfectly fine with continuing to work remotely from home. I am saving on gasoline and losing weight like crazy. Remind me why it may be a good idea to go back to work again?! LOL.
