Memorial Day weekend
« on: May 20, 2020, 07:30:36 pm »
It's hard to believe it's coming up this weekend...going to be weird because so many people are going to be staying home...it will be interesting to see if people decide to try to go somewhere in states where restrictions have been loosened a little bit

It seems to me that this year is moving quickly.  It is hard to keep up with the day of the week.  For those that are struggling financially during these crazy times, there may not be a lot of folks that can afford to venture out and then there are those like me who would prefer to not be in the crowd.

This year is moving along at a steady pace.  My family won't be doing anything special this weekend.

I just had five days off for a funeral which isn't exactly a relaxing time so I am looking forward to the three day weekend, somewhat. True, I will have off from my day time job for three days but it means I will be intensifying efforts on my second and third jobs. The kids will be home and I am sure that we will share meals, board games, cocktails and Netflix. We signed up for a virtual five mile run (The Cinco de Miler) that we will do this weekend. We will probably go to a nearby lake and circle it several times. The kids will run and my wife and I will wear out the dogs. We are pretty caught up on yard work but may focus on expanding our waterfall. And, of course, the lawn will need to be cut trimmed and edged. I also need to clean the wooden floors. Fun times.

Memorial Day already? Wow! I feel like we're still back in March.

Wow same here. I haven't had a good sense of time for this whole year, I would believe it's still March too. I'm not sure if we'll do anything for memorial day.

I think many people will just be staying home; as there are just so many different restrictions from county to county and state to state; just easier to remain home. We will order take out to try and continue to support the local bussinesses and call it a day.

I can't believe it's almost Memorial Day weekend! I might try to bake some ribs in my oven.

Will be watching Hulu better then Netflix. Not much else just staying home as usual. My kids who have kids will probably do something.

Our extended family usually has a fish fry on Memorial Day Weekend. this will be the first time in my remembrance that we won't be able to have one. We usually have about 20 or 30 people gathered for this once-a-year event, but my dad is 70, so we don't want to put him in any danger. He wants to kind of sit this one out until the curve becomes a little more flat. So we'll probably have the fish fry on Labor Day Weekend (hopefully) this year.   :peace:
