I find walking through the cemetery to be interesting.  The older sections of the cemetery have headstones that go way back.  Some are hard to read due to aging of the stones and or moss.  A lot of history in some areas.....there might be 5 to 6 small headstones with names of a the children one family lost in a short time period.

I have always liked to read the headstones.  Sometimes they are so funny that someone in the family really had a sense of humor.  It is always interesting to see and read them.

I take a 15 minute walk twice a day as part of my recovery regimen ordered by my heart surgeon, but I never need to get more than half a block from my front door.

I walk around my block every other day and I have an exercise equipment at home when weather permits.

I love cemeteries. They're so peaceful and full of history. Of course, I research my family tree (and my husband's), so I've spent a lot of time searching for graves. Several years ago, I had a couple hours free between work and my night classes, so I went to a few cemeteries and photographed every single stone for the Find a Grave website. I've been meaning to do that again now that the weather is nice (and before the world goes back to normal). My old office building was across the street from a cemetery. On my lunch breaks, I considered going for walks through it, but I never did. I wasn't sure if anyone would think that it's disrespectful, since I wasn't visiting any graves. I guess maybe I could have.
LOL now that you mention it, they weren't there when I came back around.

I find the cemetery to be very peaceful.  I have people there, so I can visit them on my walk.

I do not have any cemetaries in close proximity to my home. I don't find them creepy, but not sure I would just want to walk through one for the exercise. To each is own though, we all have differences and if you like it go for it!

My in-laws are buried at a cemetery that is about a mile and a half away from our house. I've walked there on occasion, but don't find it overly peaceful there. Their headstones are about twenty yards away from the north edge that borders railroad tracks.

With 5 dogs, taking a walk now is everyday.  They used to go to doggy day care, but they are all closed now, so off we go for walks.  I’ll probably keep this up, I know it’s good for you, but when we open and it’s hot I bet off to the day care they go again! lol

You really do not need to go to a cemetery, to enjoy walks, just walk around your block, no need driving.

Assuming your have a "block" to walk around.  Everyone does not live in little neighborhoods.  There is a cemetery not far from me and I have seen people walking on the roads.  Even riding bikes. Not a big deal although I am sure some would complain that they are disturbing the dead. ::)   I am not overly interested in just walking around studying the tombstones but sometimes it is interesting to read the names.  Any time I have been there for a burial I look at the stones around where we are.  If I lived closer it is a good place to walk and I probably would walk there.

where i used to live it was much eaiser to walk outside. much quieter streets. sometimes i am able to walk in the parking lot. For now i have a half wall in my living and dining room that becomes my walking treadmill twice a day. i can't wait to get back to the gym but that is at least a month away! :rainbow: :peace:

I really look forward to my daily walks.  My husband and I try to walk 3 miles each day through the neighborhood. I don't always make it the whole three, but always more than two.  We don't have a cemetery close by, but I do believe it would be a lovely place to walk with a different "feel" all its own.
