Stimus check - second one

I havent received the first. But my thoughts are if I get it, I get it, if I dont I dont

It wasnt something I was counting on, and there are other people out there that need it more than me

While I am looking forward to a second stimulus check, somehow I feel as though it is not going to happen. Republicans seem to be dead set against it. Ugh.

Fingers crossed, they get it right this time, "stimulus" checks won't come out of our tax refunds like the first round!
Been reading the new and they are optimistic about receiving second check by August 2020!

I don't believe the first round has anything to do with next years (2020) tax refund, but I could be wrong. I guess we will wait and see. Now it may have to be claimed as income, but not a deduction from 2020 refund.

I've "seen" the HEROS Act is calling for a second $1200, and they want to include those who make up to $75K and couples earning up to $150,000 would be eligible for $2,400. Why? Most people can live okay on those amount, plus they want the $600 extra for unemployment to continue. That's part of the problem. They also want to include adult dependents, many college students and immigrants. People without a Social Security number were excluded from the first round of checks. The HEROES Act says all you need is a taxpayer ID number.

The unemployment should be lower so people that expect "free" money forever would get used to not having that extra in their unemployment check. Pelosi wants a lot of other crap in the bill that has nothing to do with COVID-19 again. This is the other big sticking point and she and the rest of the Dems won't budge from that amount. I can see the essential workers also getting some because they weren't included in the CARES Act, but not the other stuff for . They need to stop acting like money grows on trees.

BTW, we didn't get our first round until mid-June. I had given up that we would ever get it. After all, when Bush was president and gave everyone that $500, we didn't get it. We didn't get any tax breaks or help through Obama either...so I would welcome another $1200 to make up for what we never got before.

I still haven't received my first stimulus check.   So, I called about it.  For some reason, it was returned.  Good thing it that they have record of that and now I know they do. There were a couple of options about getting this check and the person on the phone said the best thing to do is just wait for it as there was a way to sign up on line but it wasn't working well for others. So I will wait for it to be mailed out again. I don't mind as long as I get it. I sure could use the money.

And I say again, please spellcheck. I'm sure it highlighted "STIMUS".

But it does give everyone the chance to decipher and translate the word into what it's supposed to be, so I guess it's all right. It's like a game of sorts. 

BTW, I just checked for the definition of STIMUS and it pulled up "STIMULUS."

I  must be the problem, bein' all nitpicky and such. GOOGLE fixes everything.

How did you call and speak to a human?  What number did you call?  OMG a human? Really?

Yes, I spoke with a human. I waited on the phone for about an hour however.  I called the number that was provided on the followup letter (which I didn't get that either). I found the number online when I searched for articles relating to the subject.  It is 800-919-9835.  The person I talked to was pleasant and very helpful.  I appreciated the help looking into the matter.  So now I just wait but atleast I know what is going on.

Was the mailing of stimulus checks for the first wave that never got checks or for a second check?  I know it hasn't been long since I noted the status of my first check, but I still haven't gotten my first one yet.
