To be clear, there are two different groups here. There are peaceful protesters who actually DO care about Floyd, and there are rioters. The city leaders announced today that 80% of the rioters are not local citizens. Everyone they have arrested so far has been from out of state. People are saying that organized anarchist groups and white supremacists are interspersed in the crowds and inciting the looting and arson, making the protesters look like criminals. The city leaders and various cultural representatives are currently pleading that people honor the curfew. The police and national guard have been outnumbered by the crowds. The fire department cannot get to the fires in time to salvage anything. The number of bystanders that are not actually participating in the destruction are impeding the efforts to contain this madness.

But you make it sound like it is just white people starting the fires and destroying things. That is not true. I have seen the videos of black people screaming and throwing stuff and being completely crazy.  Why does skin color even need to be mentioned? Just further incites hate.  I do know a lot of the people participating are bussed in from other places. You are right about the by-standers. WHY would you want to be in the middle of that where you could be hurt or killed? Oh because people are idiots. smh

And I understand WHY the police and fire are not responding. Just pointed out they said they are no longer responding. Not a lot they can do.  Things are too out of control.  They need help.  But none of this is to honor the guy who died.  :(

I think the police who killed him are not being charged with anything.  Hopefully that will change.  Im confused by the officer who had his knee on him.  Did he learn that was ok to do. Do they learn that in cop school. Horrible

Why do you think that?  They all have been fired. And it has been on the news that charges ARE pending.  They have to be careful how they bring the charges. Has nothing to do with them being cops. It is like a few years ago a local guy was charged with 1st degree murder as well as 2nd degree murder, and it was for killing ONE person.  That did not make sense.  It was explained to me that this way - they want a 1st degree murder charge but did not think they could make that stick. If it does not he walks free.  They can't come back and charge him with a different crime because they did not like the outcome of the first trial.  So this way one of the charges stick.

Saying "do they learn that in cop school" is disrespectful and makes you just as bad as the ones looting and rioting and even the cop who killed him. Just one more thing to make people fight and further divide the people.   No he did not have to do what he done.  And I honestly do not think he meant to kill him which is why 1st degree murder won't be a charge.  The most will be man slaughter. It was not intentional. He did not set out to KILL him. At the same time there had multiple complaints about him and nothing was ever done. And he needs to go to jail.  Anybody else who done the same thing would.

How do you know what his intentions were? The officer had his knee on George Floyd's neck for about 8 minutes even when he stopped moving and you don't think he meant to kill him? The only thing I agree is that he needs to go to jail.

No I actually don't. I think he was just being a bully and exerting force. He would not have purposely murdered him, with multiple people filming, right there in the middle of a huge crowd. I did not say he did not need to be punished. I said I do not think his intentions were murder.  Sources have said there have been several other incidents where he had complaints for using excessive force.  I know a local cop who is a lot like this guy. When he puts the uniform on he is a god and you will bow to him.  I think things just went too far but he did not set out to kill him.  Thus why he is not charged with 1st degree murder.

Unfortunately, we do not know his intentions. Maybe that is a possibility but going that far was way too much. Police are trained and I feel like anyone who is applying that kind of force does so with a level of intent. I think the officer deserves a 2nd degree murder charge, but he has now been charged with 3rd degree murder.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/05/29/us/minneapolis-george-floyd-friday/index.html

He does deserve to be charged and he needs to go to jail. I am just saying I do not think he intended to murder him. Maybe he did. But why would he do that in front of a huge crowd of people when several were standing there videoing him? I do think he meant to use force which he had done before. I just do not think he set out to actually kill him.

I think you answered that yourself - when some cops put on their uniform they expect to be treated like God. I'm sure many cops think/know they can get away with murder - even on camera - seeing as it's happened many times.

This is hilarious. Do you have a split personality disorder? It is like talking to 2 different people. smh The other convo you are all mouthy and wanting to argue instead of just having a conversation. lol

I actually know someone local who is or was like that.  I do not know that he was ever violent with anyone.  I have heard stories about how people got smacked around.  You won't believe it because it was a WHITE man who got beat up. But when he put his uniform on he was like a god (in his own mind) and you DID respect him.  Well respect is earned not just given.

Nope, no split personality disorder here. You just never accept what users say when it doesn't align with you and take that as an argument brewing; it is quite infantile.

I don't care what race he was so don't act like you know what I will believe. I already address that many cops think they can get away with things because they get treated like gods. Go back and reread this thread because now you're going in circles repeating yourself.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about these racist cops killing african american men for no reason. >:( This world will never change but at the end of the day, they will have to answer to God.
I feel so bad for his family and I pray they heal and make it through this.. R.I.P. George Floyd

So it doesn't matter when a cop kills a white man?  Not sure why everything has to be made in to a race thing.  There was another story just a couple days ago and had a picture showing a BLACK COP choking a BLACK MAN he was arresting.  That did not make big headlines because you can't make it in to a race. thing. ::)

OR when a BLACK COP kills a WHITE MAN!!!  Happens a lot.  You just never hear about it.  It doesn't fit the agenda. You are right about people being racist. But it goes in every direction. And everything from skin color, to religious beliefs, to physical disabilities, and anything else that people can hate somebody else for.

"made into a race thing"?? George Floyd was a black man - that is a purely fact. Did the "BLACK COP choking a BLACK MAN he was arresting" kill said man in that story? If he did, that is one of the purposes of the protests - as Mizzkizz7 said, people are tired of seeing black men get killed. And, out of curiosity, where do you see the black cops constantly killing white men since you claim it happens a lot? By no means is anyone sticking up for senseless death that could be avoided.

LOL  So we can see you are blinded by the media.  Google it.  There was a BLACK COP shot an unarmed WHITE MAN 2 counties over from me just a few years ago. No media coverage. Nothing was said. You can find the stats if you want to look for them.  White men get shot by cops too.  But you see what you want to.  If you think the violence that is erupting all over the country is okay then you are part of the problem.  Don't be crying when your family gets caught in the cross fire.  You are wanting to fight with me and you do not even know me.  Actually, no where EVER in any of my comments have I EVER mentioned what color my skin is.  If you bother to look there are black men and women all over twitter saying how the burning things down, rioting, and looting are wrong.  It needs to stop.  If you look at the numbers there are more white men/women shot by cops that black.  But black is what gets the attention. It is what gets the people riled up and fighting.  This has got to stop.  Our country is gone.  It isn't coming back.  What we knew just a few months ago we will never know again.  Hate is what is going to take our country down.  People are so blind by hate they do not even listen to what the other person says before they start attacking, screaming, and fighting with them. Oh that and just plain hate because of the color of their skin.  And THAT goes in every direction as well. ::)
God help us!

LOL! So you come up with one single case to compare to many cases of cops killing unarmed black people. And a something that allegedly few years ago at that. You can find the lists of the other victims, too. No one is saying white men are not getting shot by cops.

I haven't yet mentioned the violence in the country so don't jump the gun. And don't cry when your family gets caught up in the crossfire. Once again, you think someone is fighting with you because they don't fully agree with you. Also, stop reaching. I never brought up your race or mentioned/implied your skin color... So stop whining. ::)

"If you look at the numbers there are more white men/women shot by cops that black" - Stop making up lies. If you're gonna make the claim, share the facts. If you have a problem with the lack of white victims being depicted and fought for, DO something about it. SAY something about. Stories about black victims have been pushed because people are fed up and force it to be seen. Nobody would do anything otherwise.

It is not a single cases. There are THOUSANDS of cases. I gave an example of a SINGLE CASE that I personally know about. If you say I can't use this example from a few years ago then you can't use the "oh white cops shoot black people" from years ago. ::)

I am not reaching or jumping the gun.  It is sad people are too stupid to realize a conversation can't include something besides what you just said. Funny how you just repeat everything back to me I said to you then say I am whining. lol

You are not worth my time. Not going to sit and argue with you.  People like you already have your mind made up and you have no more facts than any one else.  As far as numbers - I told you how to find it.  Google it.  Not going to do it for you.  SO just continue to sit there in your hate filled world.  It must be a sad place to live.

But just a little FYI I am sure the families of WHITE men and HISPANIC men and every other race are just as tired of police brutality.  But keep thinking you are being victimized if it makes you feel better.

That is my point, too - it's about THOUSANDS OF CASES unlike your singular, "personally" relevant case that conveniently only you can confirm. Yes, I can use that example because there are many articles and sources to back up the claims.

Now you are bringing up my initial argument from a previous post (about repeating). Yet again... I guess some people are also too stupid to form their own thoughts. But, I guess you agreed with me after all.

There are many other protesters who also wave posters supporting other races of victims. Also on Twitter.

You don't need to argue unless your intent is to keep trying to change my opinion. And I never mentioned that I personally feel victimized. Nice try! :peace:

This is not about a single case. Quit being stupid.  There are more white people killed by police than blacks. That can be proven with stats that can easily be found.  It is not just me that can confirm it. Everyone around here knows about it. ::)

I am not arguing unless you are too.  Simply responding to stupidity directed at me.  Back to proving you are like 2 completely different people responding.
If race did not have to be brought in to it and ALL of the cases where a cop kills an innocent person were treated the same you could get more support. It is like the WHITE WOMAN who called 911 and as she stood there talking to the cop her idiot friend walks up behind the police car and smacks the back of the car.  The cop in the passenger side shoots and kills the woman standing there talking to them.  The one who called for help.  He also shot across in front of his partner's face.  He said oh well I was scared.  So he walks away free.  No riots, no big deal made.  Why?  It was just a white girl.  Nobody cared.

You cannot be that ignorant IRL (can you?) because you literally mentioned a single case... There are significantly more white people in this country so I'd be surprised if that weren't the case. It's a problem when anyone is killed unnecessarily by an officer.

You accused me of arguing so that means you are yourself. You pick and choose a single part of my responses to respond to. When people start making sense to you, your brain doesn't process and starts going with elementary jabs. Hahaha! @ different people? You can't be a 10 year old.  ???

Reread above where I said: If you have a problem with it, DO something about it. Minorities are fighting for justice. Complaining to strangers on FC because the majority is being "ignored" seems silly. Or just plain stupid. Make it a big deal if you feel nobody cares or just keep complaining to the internet like you do. :dontknow:

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like it's only white people. It's definitely not. I was just referring to the organized extremist groups that are only there to incite violence. There are definitely opportunists of all races there.

Generally, I suspend my opinion on these police brutality cases on the African American community. However, for some reason, the George Floyd case was particularly emotional and difficult for me not to provide my $0.02. While I do not condone violence under any circumstances, it is not difficult to understand the frustrations of African Americans (myself included) over having to witness time-and-time again some select corrupt police officers using their badge as an excuse to beat and (in some instances) kill African Americans. I honestly hope that ALL of the police officers (not just the moron who put his knee on Floyd's neck) get charged and face justice to the fullest extent.

Well, now they're saying this is not accurate and the majority of arrests are from Minnesota. Who knows what to believe anymore?  ???

It was a devastating video to see. I kept wondering what crime he had committed and I saw that he used a counterfeit bill to buy cigarettes. The use of force was excessive and these particular cops had previously used undue force and should have been severely disciplined. And in this case, the charge should at least be manslaughter because he kept his knee on Mr. Lloyd's neck (not appropriate at all) and did not remove it until his body was limp and lifeless and was lifted onto a stretcher. It's a shame that these things happen and that all police are all lumped into the same basket of deplorable people that should be dishonored and not respected.

I also hate that the disagreement causes dissension within our ranks; our Fusion Cash group. I like intelligent discourse and even disagreement with argument, but I don't like people attacking each other's opinions. I wish we would agree to disagree and promote our arguments with intelligent back and forth discussion. None of these racial incidents are easy to dissect and understand. Perhaps we should think about praying for the situation.  :angel11: A lot of people were hurt and will be affected for a very long time.

There are lots of intelligent and caring people within our ranks. Let's just kiss and make up. Okay?  :notworthy:

Wrong is wrong - regardless of what color your skin is. Minnesota cops were wrong and should be punished. Those people looting and vandalizing establishments of other innocents are wrong and should be punished.

I'll say it again. Wrong is wrong - regardless of what color your skin is, or what color skin the victim(s) of your wrong actions is.

:dontknow:

The only ignorant one is you.  Do you want me to sit here and name every case that can be found online??  Are you really that stupid?  Numbers will tell you more white people are shot or killed by cops.  Either way it is wrong.  The whole point is when it is black on white there are no riots or no big deals made.  Yes, I mentioned ONE case.  ONE case I personally know about.  It is not the only case.  And FYI I am not complaining.  I have never once complained.  It is called having a conversation.  But you can't do that.  Again, you do the exact same thing you accuse me of.  SO I guess you are 10 also. lol
