As we can see, African American men are being treated unfairly, beaten, shot and left for dead. This has to stop. George Floyd should not be dead, he didn't even resist arrest. Those officers need the same thing done to them like they did to that man. It's not fair.

If we lived in an uncivilized society it would probably be that way, but we are not barbarians as much as some people think we are. We are governed by laws for good reason. Those policemen will have their day in court and receive the punishment our system of laws decides for them.

I agree with you on this subject, but on the other hand, I hope they receive the proper amount of justice that they deserve for taking a life over the period of almost 9 minutes and without anyone interfering once they heard he couldn't breathe.  We all know when someone is struggling.  It doesn't take a brain surgeon when we see, listen, and feel someone's body.

This makes me wonder if anyone on the scene (spectators) tried to call 9-1-1 regarding the officer kneeling on Mr. Floyd's neck. I mean, if they did, the officer's superior maybe could have radioed in and ordered the officer to stop what he was doing. Or maybe there wouldn't have been enough time for that to happen. Or maybe 9-1-1 dispatch would have ignored the call.  Just a thought.

Our laws will not give out that type of punishment.  Even if they are sentenced to death it will be in a humane way and not by knee on neck until dead.  This should never happen to anyone and most of the world is sickened by it.  We have laws here but they are applied different depending on who you are.  Some go to four star resort prisons and some to one star slums.  Who do you think gets the nicer one?

I don't wish on the officer that killed George Floyd to be killed himself, but I hope justice is served and he gets a lot of time for what he did. The other officers should have tried to pull him off Floyd once it became clear he was losing consciousness, so they deserve time too.

We will see if the trials and punishment are just.  The prosecutor is already saying it's difficult to convict a police officer.   An eyewitness can forget or lie but not usually a video showing the actions of everyone involved.   Hire a liar, make someone else responsible and get a slap on the wrist.  The justice system is not just for everyone.  Money talks and the perpetrator walks.

I agree with JaneSue: it should be corrected to 'all lives' matter. Why does this have to be a color issue? Every life matters. Media sensationalizes a color separation and seems to actually incite violence. Why can't we all just get along? I find it humorous to hear people, that have only been exposed to a limited number of individuals that are not the same color, saying we need to fight for whites, blacks, Asians, et., etc. I have a cousin that grew up in a wealthy Chicago Suburb that is out rioting and tries to shame me into joining him.I think he has had exposure to maybe seven people of color in his entire life. I grew up in some of the roughest areas with exposure to people of every color. I have won awards for diversity, had people tell me that I have soul and am a champion for la gente.

While yes all lives matter, this was an organization of blacks for black equality. It's like saying the NAACP should change its name. It also doesn't help that recently someone in Oregon was screaming all lives matter and then proceeded to try to pull a gun on everyone. Just because it's not inclusive in it's name doesn't mean it's threatening the rights of people who aren't black, just like how pride marches aren't trying to discriminate straight people. Just something to think about.

That shot the scene? Are you talking about the video of the cop with his knee on his neck? It was a kid. What was she suppose to do?  Why condemn her and not condemn all the others who stood there screaming and done nothing?   Why not condemn the other 3 cops?  Now at least 2 of them are being defended saying they could not do anything.  Well if THEY could not do anything how do you think a 16 year old girl is going to do something.  I value my life and if I had witnessed this I would not intervene either.  Neither would anybody else including his best bud that was there with him and ran off.

If you pay attention there are thousands and thousands of videos on the internet where somebody is hurt or dying and some idiot just stands there and videos and does nothing to help the person.  They are more interested in the instant fame.  Not sure that this kid was looking for instant fame but I have heard she has received death threats for videoing and not helping.

Black lives matter but so do white lives.  This entire subject is misunderstood.  Look up how many blacks came against blacks during these protests, looting and pandemonium.  As a christian yes I believe no one is lesser than anyone else.  I have biracial grandchildren.  A black son-in-law but people are taking the black lives matter too far and if some blacks don't respect other blacks then what the heck do we think.  People are using black lives matter to do wrong and even to come against their own race.
