Good comments! Be kind to animals. Some animals need our help because
they cannot find what they need to live...to survive. Do not forget dogs, cats
and other animals that approach your garden. Water is essential...and some
other food treats.

We have four feeders for the birds which are rigged to keep Mr Squirrel away.  We have a separate feeder for them with peanuts and/or pistachios on occasion.

We had a feeder when I was a kid but mom made us get rid of it because the birds were pooping all over the side of the house, lol.

But if you feed random stray cats and dogs they won't leave. lol  We have a few stray cats in the area and the guy across the street feeds them and so does another woman on down the road.

My sweet daughter-in-law has birds in her house and she feeds loads of birds outside as well, including the hummingbirds.

I'm not doing it right now, but I think it's a noble cause.  8)

My neighbor enjoys feeding the wild life.  The rabbits and birds are almost tame.  I like to make sure they have water.  Since I water my garden, the birds get the use of the fountain also.  It is so relaxing to watch them.

Nancy,i know U love animals. When Gods kingdom rules the earth and disposes this Satanic/manmade world,U can look forward to this...….

The Bible states at Isaiah 11:6-9: “The wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them. And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull. And the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra; and upon the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a weaned child actually put his own hand. They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain.”

We had a huge sack of bird seed inside a wheelbarrow in the corner of our garage. When I recently got over to it (much other winter junk/clutter ended up blocking it off) the wheelbarrow was covered in mouse poop and the basin was filled up with empty seed shells! I'll give the critters credit - it was my mistake to not transfer the seed into a more secure storage container. I have a few empty plastic cat litter tubs in the basement. I think any future seed we buy will immediately get portioned into those.

lol  I use to pour the bags out in to a tote and used a scoop to fill the feeders.  A mouse jumped out when I scooped him up a couple years ago.  That was the last time I done things that way. haha  I just buy what I need and fill them and don't really store any.  I tried to order some from chewy but they do not carry the kind the birds like.  There is a cheaper brand at Walmart and they don't eat it if I put it out.

The way you are storing now sounds good but I did not think a mouse could get in to a tote with a lid snapped down tight on it.

Yes we feed the birds, the squirrels, the rabbits and the ground hogs. We even have a fox that comes on by sometimes. I like having outside pets. lol
