Obviously the only answer is to lock everybody in their homes from now til the end of time.  Or until November when it will magically all disappear.

No we don't have to lock people in their homes, but like most agree be careful when you go out.  No large groups of people and wear a mask, even Vice President Pence now wears one and is in favor of wearing them.

If you want to wear one that is fine. Wear one. If we are going to ban large groups when are we going to start banning the thousands gathering together protesting screaming in the streets?  The lock people in their homes was sarcasm. Referring to the states that had lock downs. My state did not. All I know about the ones that did is what people told me.  And you can't really believe that. I talked to a random dude at Walmart a couple weeks ago and he was talking about when we were "locked down" and how the police stopped him and asked for his "papers" ::)  That never happened. Not here.

The largest crowd I am in is either if I go to town shopping or at church. We try to limit our trips to town and go early in the morning when we do go.  Been doing that since early last fall.  I don't want the flu either. :D

I have seen people saying some states are locking people back down.  ::)  This cannot keep happening unless you are planning on supporting those people. You can't lock me up in my house and tell me I can't go to work and still expect me to be able to pay a house payment, electric bill, and other general bills and buy food and necessities.  Most of the people screaming "lock us down" the loudest are people who are either drawing social security or disability. Maybe these people never had to work and always lived off the government.  They get that big fat check every month no matter what. So not being able to leave home is no big deal. I assume the ones who did work and are now retired forgot what it was like to have to work.  Too many people do not understand we can't all just sit at home. Besides the fact that if we did when you go to the store there will be nothing on the shelf. You can't order anything and have it delivered because none of those people will be working either.

Most people do not have a mini mart hoarded up in their basement with enough cash in the bank to live for a few years. So leaving home is the only way they can survive.

Where did I say we have to lock people in their homes?  You are reading something into my post that I did not say.  I simply said be careful when you go out, no large groups and wear a mask like Pence is now.  I NEVER said lockdown people.  if your state had no lockdown you were lucky, most did.  We have to go to work just as you do, we have bills just like you do.  I'm not nor I ever have screamed lockdown   I don't have the answer why the numbers are rising and I don't receive social security but I find it offensive that you say they are living off the government.  My parents were on social security until they died, but they paid into the system for many many years and they were just drawing what they put in.  On day both you and I will be on social security and I bet you won't think you're living off the government.  And you might be shocked what you receive from social security, it's not a big fat check. most have a very difficult time living off just that.  I wish we had tons of money so we wouldn't care, but we struggle just like you.

That is an insult to people who worked all their life and are now collecting Social Security. I never lived off the government. I worked since I was 15. I am 72 and I'd still be working if it wasn't for my sarcoma 8 years ago which left me unable to walk or stand long. I haven't forgotten what it was like to work. I worked 14 hours a day, 7 days a week plus holidays. I loved working. What do I get for that? Insults from people like you.

I think it makes sense - nobody should be travelling so that we can get this all behind us and start living our lives again.

::)  "I" said it. Dang. Can people not realize a conversation takes many turns and is not all about the one comment the original person said. I am not reading anything in to anything.  And Yes people screamed LOCK DOWN! There were tons of people screaming "lock us down" and are still screaming it.  My suggestion is "lock yourself down"

Can't really help that you are offended that I said people are living off the government. They are. Seems you are the one reading something into a comment. As for me drawing social security - I highly doubt it.  The money won't be there when I get old enough to draw. Yes I am paying in to the system. But the system is already broke. More and more younger people are drawing disability and refuse to work.

Not going to sit and argue about it. What I say is fact. Most of the people who scream lock us down and shut the country down are living off the government. They get pretty good checks because they have more money than I do. If they were not and they were depending on a check from a place of business they would not be yelling to shut every thing down.  Or maybe they want the unemployment and that extra $600 a week.  Thanking God that ends in July. Maybe these dead beats will return to work.  And I talked to a woman the other day that said she got on unemployment and she was making more money than she ever did working and NO she had no intentions of looking for or accepting a job. smh

No it is not an insult. It is a fact. I included several groups in the statement. You take it how you want to. Either way what I said is true.  If you draw social security you DO in fact get a check from the government. You do not have to leave your house. I find it insulting that people who are not working and still getting money every month are screaming they want the country locked down so younger people cannot go to work and will end up homeless. ::)

It’s funny, everyone is wrong , but she’s always right.  So all you people getting your social security checks did you realize you are living off the government.  No matter you might have paid into the system for almost 50 years, and might only live 5 years to receive a handout you are living off the government.  I worked with a man who could not wait until he turned 65 so he could retire and receive social security.  Finally the day came we had a huge party for him.  3 weeks later he died of a heart attack and never received that first check.  I am not on the forum to start a fight with anyone, but I’m not going to sit back and allow someone to blast me.  I don’t understand why we can’t voice our opinions without knowing other people will come down on your statement.  It would be a very boring society if we all agreed on everything and it’s ok if we don’t agree, that’s life.  I don’t agree with my husband all the time, that’s called difference of opinions

The numbers continue to rise: Out of one million, two hundred and fifty three thousand, two hundred and nineteen closed cases, one hundred and twenty nine thousand and seventy seven have resulted in death which works out to a more than ten percent fatality rate. Our mortality rate is skewing the eight percent Global mortality percentage upward. Even the 's whole' companies that Mr. Trump wanted to block from coming to America have death rates that are close to half what the mortality rate is in the United States. It really comes as no surprise that the European Union would want to block reckless countries from the 'safe list' for admittance. Dr. Fauci has indicated that the coronavirus cases could go up to one hundred thousand per day. Abd now there appears to be a new strain of H1N1 swine related virus brewing from China.
