Now Masks are Okay
« on: July 01, 2020, 03:01:15 pm »
The president endorsed wearing masks, to fight the spread of coronavirus, today after five months Fellow party mates have endorsed the use of masks with some urging the president to set a good example for the American public. The vice president had relented and began wearing a mask several weeks ago. It was only a month ago that the vice president had visited a hospital without a mask on. The Senate Majority leader endorsed masks this week and stated that there should be no stigma associated with the wearing of masks. A variety of excuses have been proffered including not wanting to please the press or wearing of a mask leading to poor optics with foreign leaders. The president had blasted a reuter's analyst for wearing a face mask as a political ploy. In March the president had mocked Joe Biden for being a fear mongerer. Rush Limbaugh (LOL) said that the masks are a "required symbol on the left to promote fear, to promote indecision, to promote the notion that we're nowhere near out of this.". Perhaps additional rehabilitation is needed by Limbaugh.

I'm so confused!  It's such a polarized issue.  To wear a mask or not!!  Is it really about personal freedom?  Or public safety???

as adults do we really need examples? If you feel like wearing a mask do so, if not don't.

It's always been ok but some people are too stupid to realize.  It's basic science people!  It has nothing to do with taking away your personal freedom.  Why have doctors and nurses been wearing masks forever? In my state masks have been mandatory since April and we're one of the few states where cases have decreased, hopefully it will continue and not go up.  I don't understand why people are so ignorant.  Europe, Asia and lots of other places did the right thing but America is going to suffer worse unnecessarily because Americans are stupid and selfish.

Even though it is optional whether to wear a mask or not in most states. I think that if Donald Trump were a true leader, he would lead by example and wear a mask, particularly when he is on TV. That would encourage his supporters to wear masks and keep them safer.

And some people are too stupid to realize that a little thin piece of cloth loosely dangled across your mouth with your friggin nose hangin out is not going to stop anything.  And even more people are too stupid and ignorant to grasp you can't spread what you don't have.  ::)  Stop believing the lies the media is spouting.  And it most certainly is about personal freedom.  When you are told you have to wear a head covering to be in public are you going to bow to that as well?

You basically answered your own question.
"Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?"

I think everyone need to take personal responsibility  to help stop the spread of this  out of control virus; I have been wearing mask from the beginning and will continue to do do so; not because I like to but to  at least try and give me some protections from others and them protection from me; we can be asymptomatic and not know.

Our mayor made it mandatory that if you work or visit a commercial building where social distancing is not possible you are required to wear a mask.

I think the whole controversy behind "mask-gate" (as I like to call it) is absolutely ridiculous. Wear the darn mask as recommended by the CDC. If you do not care about your health, at least care about the health of your loved ones, particularly the elderly and the very young.
