I used to hang on to old magazines but anymore I cannot deal with the clutter so I just recycle them after looking through them.

I have a couple of scripts and after I look at them I have someone I give them to.  Then they usually get chunked. They use to get passed on to someone else but she died back in the spring.

Depending on the kind of magazines, My mom has given them to nursing homes in the past. The older folks don't seem to mind that they are older. I would take off your name and address first. Or sometimes day cares will take them for crafts if they are appropriate for kids.

Depending on what they are, maybe you can sell them on eBay. I have sold magazines on eBay before.

The older magazines you can probably sell. Part of the value are the people who are in the magazine and if people collect their stuff. Famous stars and athletes would probably bring in the most money.

I like this suggestion!  Especially to mail out of state!

You could try selling some of them on eBay and some libraries take certain magazines for their patrons to read also.

Declutter and recycle.  There's no sense keeping stacks of old magazines around.  You'll feel better not having to look at the pile everyday.

Recycle, donate to school or nursery school where they can cut out the pictures for projects.
I agree, a nursery school is a great idea. The kids always need new interesting ways to create projects.

My husband had kept all his NRA magazines since the early 1960's and I gave them all to our local gun dealer

I think it would be important to note that you gave away his NRA magazines after he passed away and you were trying to clear out the house to sell it and downsize. (Otherwise it sounds kind of cruel to think that you just one day up and got rid of his magazines right from under his nose that he'd been saving for decades).

Make a endtable from them.  Save them when you are old.
