Nevada Man Hospitalized After Apparent Coronavirus Reinfection

Nevertheless, the first documented reinfection is notable in how quickly the patient seemed to be reinfected after his initial recovery.

Earlier this week, the world was dealing head-on with what was believed to be the world's first documented case of coronavirus reinfection in Hong Kong.

Now, less than a week later, researchers in the United States are reporting their first documented case of a patient who got COVID, recovered and then got it again.

Scientists say that although reinfection is likely possible, it's also extremely rare. This is the first documented reinfection among nearly 6 million COVID-19 cases to date.

Nevertheless, the first documented reinfection is notable in how quickly the patient seemed to be reinfected after his initial recovery.

likely case of reinfection from the coronavirus that causes covid-19, with genetic evidence backing up their claim. While it remains to be seen whether reinfection will be a common phenomenon, this newest case suggests that a second infection can cause more severe illness than the first, even in young and seemingly healthy people.

( So how long are the antibodies good for? )

I read months ago that immunity from getting reinfected with Covid-19 once recovering from it would only be up to several months, as it should act like any other corona virus, like the common cold.  Interesting, & kind of disturbing, to see it play out. :/

LOL  Does this really surprise you?  Are you still gonna run take the vaccine? The vaccine they said you will need every 3 months? smh

Exactly.  It is like the flu. It is a virus and it will be here every year.  So what are you going to do? Hide in your house for the rest of your life? Or get out and live again?

I'm not taking the vaccine - I don't take the flu shot either, on the two occasions I have taken the flu shot, I have gotten sick both times.

I'm an advocate to OpenCalifornia & have been for months.  I personally think people need to open up the world, build up herd immunity & if you are at high risk stay home &/or continue to practice social distancing & various precautions.   I think some people can take better health care of themselves, like the obese, it's time to take responsibility on things you can change, it's hard to lose weight, true, but the whole can't shut down because certain factors increase risks.

I hope some practices stay in place, like decontaminating planes & subways on a regular basis, etc... as I think it will stop the annual flu rates & its deaths.

I don't know why people think you can't get it again.  You can get the flu and cold more than once so why couldn't you get covid more than once?

Interesting, but only seems like 1 case? It does seem like we'll need booster shots every year, but how is that different than the flu?

Right. I have never taken the flu shot and never had the flu. As for the "vulnerable" and staying home - that is fine IF you can support yourself or have somebody willing to support you.  The handouts need to stop as well. The country should never have been closed to begin with. They did not close the world down for H1N1. Same thing. Only difference is this was never about a virus. It is about control. And the ignorant keep falling in line.

One case? Do you live in a bubble? There are hundreds of cases where people have gotten this more than once. Where people have gotten this virus after getting the vaccine. Where people have had anything from minor to severe up to death reactions to the vaccine. Just because YOU don't hear about it does not mean it did not happen. You also have the cases than never make national news. A local guy had covid back when it first started, he recovered, he got it again, he died. Guess what --- It never made the news.

If you pay attention they also have told you that taking the vaccine will not prevent you from getting the virus.
You still need to wear a useless mask. You still need to social distance. The mask as well as the vaccine are both worthless. But if you want to participate in both then by all means do so. I don't care what other people do. Unlike the fear filled idiots who are mad because others are not also filled with fear.

Are you sure that they are not fake news, trying to confuse the public, once more?
