Those in the Path of Sally
« on: September 15, 2020, 08:14:33 am »
Stay safe everyone and if you were told to evacuate, I hope you listen.  An update stated there may be up to 30" of rain because of how slow it's moving.  That's unbelievable and horrible for those low lying areas. At least the winds have "slowed" down. Only going at 2 mph and it may not be until tomorrow when it hits landfall. That's a long time. I remember Agnes in '72 and it was horrible! It sat over our state for 3 days.

Is this hurricane season been extra bad? I feel like I have lost count of how many storms to keep track of. I hope everyone is able to stay safe.

No people won't listen. They say we will ride it out and they cry come help me when things get too rough. Happens every time.

Not really.  This is not the first time we have had this many storms.

We have had a lot of hurricanes this year. Prayers that everyone in that path stays safe.

Of course it does. Not everyone just chooses to stay to ride out hurricanes; some people can't afford to evacuate. I imagine the number of people who stay will be more than usual because of the pandemic.

I feel bad for the people living in the low elevations dealing with that.

Praying for those who are in the path and will have the affects of this storm.  This year we seem to have had more storms at the beginning of the hurricane season.  Makes you wonder what is going to happen before the season is over.

I experienced the aftermath of Hurricane Sally...in the form of torrential rain and flooding. My car nearly got stuck in some flooded roadways in my area. Thankfully, I decided not to risk it and parked on higher ground until the water left.
