Yum chik -fil- a
« on: September 22, 2020, 01:49:15 pm »
Well I rarely leave my house these days and if my son gets "out to eat" it is on the other side of town from Chik-fil-A however I have to go on the other end of town to pick up my prescriptions from the south end of town so I will be picking up Chik-fil-A which we haven't had in ages so I am looking forward to it.  Would you go way out of your way to get something food wise just because you like it that much?

No chic fil a near me would love to try.  We have every other fast food here.  Heard only good things about it.

There are times that I will go out of my way to treat myself.  I don't do it often but if I am going in the direction of the place, I will go the extra mile.  It makes it taste much better.

If I get a craving, I will definitely go out of my way.  These days, I sometimes just need to get out of the house for a little drive so sometimes I do it when I am hungry so I can pick something up I have been thinking about a lot. I try to be good  in regard to fast food, but after about a week I am thinking about some of my favorite places and I have to give in.

I'm lucky since where I live all the fast food and regular sit down restaurants are very close by but I still prefer cooking at home

How far away is "out of your way"? I suppose it may depend on how large the town you live in is and what options are available. The "other side of town" round trip for some is a 10-20 minute drive and for others is a 45-60 minute drive.

The best pizza on the planet is about a 3+ hour one way trip for me. I would not make a seven hour round trip for it, but I would definitely do it for half that.

I've gone a bit out of my way for a craving before, but in order to go clear across town I'd really need to think of a secondary objective to justify the trip.

It really depends on how far away "out of my way" is to determine if I would go there for my craving.  I wouldn't drive to a different town that's for sure.

As much as I used to love Chik fil A I stopped eating there about seven years ago because they chose to air political and religious views. Regardless of whether I agree , or disagree, with the views I feel that Corporations and people in the public view should not use the audience created by their art to try and sway people's opinions. Even when people would bring breakfast to work from Chik Fil A I would pass so as, not to create any demand, politely say thank you and recommend two to three other places that were amazing for breakfast items. I never gave my reason nor did I speak ill of the company and/or it's products but gently steered people away from going to that restaurant. My wife and family have heard my reasoning once and I have never mentioned it again.

There is not a single business out there that does not have some sort of political or religious or social bias or agenda. Admittedly, some are a bit more vocal about it than others. Nike, ESPN, Starbucks... Do you steer away from those companies as well?

There is no Chick-Fil-A where I live. I have never had it! There is one where my youngest daughter lives which is about 45 minutes away.  We have driven by Chick-Fil-A and would stop but the lines are always so long.  My daughter says it is usually that way, and although it is good, it isn't THAT good!  The wait usually looks like about 20-30 minutes. Not for what I consider "fast" food!
